Mid Year Body Transformation Challenge weeks 5 and 6

How does the Mid Year Body Transformation Challenge 2009 Work?

The challenge is split into two parts:
    1. Percentage of weight lost
    2. Total centimetres lost
3.This challenge will run for 12 weeks.

So we are looking at a challenge to shed unwanted weight, but also to gain some fitness: the best way to lose cms is to exercise!

What do you need to do:
    1. Get motivated and have a plan!
    2. Get yourselves your bathroom scales and tape measure ready!
    3. PM or email me your current weight and measurements. (Please note that these will be 100% confidential.)
    3. Start eating healthily and taking more exercise
    4. Watch the results come in.....

Results will be posted weekly, on a Wednesday. All of your weight and measurement figures need to be pm'd or emailed to me by Tuesday night to be included. Actual weight and measurements will not be posted. I will only post weight, %'s and cm's lost.

Please weigh yourself in KG's, and measure, in cm's, bust, waist and hips. (So you will be sending me 4 figures each week) When you email me, please remember to let me know your username!

There is no set 'diet' for this challenge - just do whatever plan or diet works best for you. Some will perfer a set diet or plan, others will prefer healthy eating and cutting out the junk.

Each week your results will be added to this post and this will be carried over to each new thread that is started.

Well done on making it to week 5! We are nearly half way already!

This fortnight's challenge is to think of yourself in a positive way, that you ARE amazing, that you CAN change your life for the better. We should be starting to feel confident that we can stick to this, afterall we are five weeks into it, so we should let that reflect the way we live and do everything with confidence in ourselves. It's not just about losing weight or fitting into skinny jeans (but that's a huge plus LOL), but about knowing we can make healthy lifestyle changes and know it wont kill us. So find a positive mantra for yourself and put it on your fridge, or on your computer or anywhere that will remind you that you are worthy of the effort you are putting in.

    That's a great one Trill.

I just googled motivational diet quotes and the first one which i looked at i LOVED...

Running is a big question mark that's there each and every day. It asks you, "Are you going to be a wimp or are you going to be strong today?"

It suits me to a T.

    I'm going to be STRONG

Haha that last quote reminds me of your chocolate incident yesterday, getting visuals of your little avatar putting the chocolate down on the table then pushing back hehe

I think my scales are a big bad meanie to me....the other day I weighed myself and then an hr later stood on them (too lazy to shift them out of the way to hang up the kids towels! Meh!) and just happened to look down and I was 3 kgs heavier.........had not eaten anyhting and was still in the same clothes and had infact been doing housework!

Well, off to surf the net for my little business I am s l o w l y starting....

    Keep going girls!

    Thanks for the welcome girls.
WOW you are all very motivated, would love to get into the gym, but it's kindy year!!! Going in and out and dragging DS, DD and baby DD seems like a workout in itself??? DH is currently working 12 hour days so when he gets home its dark and a bit of a struggle to go for a walk, I think I might have to try cookies idea a buy a skipping rope might not be able to do much to start with though!!!
My eating is going well, will try and get excerise in over the weekend when DH is home.

For me PT friends are like hairdresser friends you don't feel like you can ask for a haircut out of hours, the truth be known (PT, are very passionate) I think they love sharing their advice and probablly are just waiting to be asked.
Anyway love the quotes... have a great day tomorrow, stay strong.

Here is the quote i had mentioned some time ago which i saw in the latest slimming and health mag ...

"You don't have to at it 24/7. Everyone has a bad day but winners get back up and keep going the next day"

Just came home from the gym. I walked at a 12% incline for 30 mins @ 5.5kph, did weights, jogged for 12 mins, did ab work and then out the door...

Vixstar - that happened to me once. I weighed one day and had a 2kg loss, i was wrapped and then did all things properly and the next day the 2kgs had come back. I too thought WTF? I asked the PT guy at the gym and he said sometimes the body will hold onto fluid from the previous day or lose it. I was devastated. I ended up not losing the 2kgs.

    Kas -

Pam - my DH works 12 hour shifts too 7am-7pm and is usually home at about 7.30pm. I go to the gym when he gets home. I make sure i am ready and waiting for him as i go as he's still parking his car on the street. The days when he's home, i go to the gym straight after work and am usually by 6.30pm. Buy some excercise DVD's to help??

    Be good!

Hi everyone! Having such bad cravings today. Think AF is coming. I just want to binge binge binge.
    Anyway here is todays diary:

My day today has been ok
Steps: 12,500 so far but plan to be 15000 by time I go to bed
    Bfast: banana (late for work)
Mtea: (nothing - still crazy busy at work)
Lunch: salad sandwich on white. no butter but did have mayo and cheese
Atea: coffee with light soy and one sugar
Dinner: vege version of soto ayam soup including chickpeas
Other: peppermint tea (but might have some oven chips a bit later if still having cravings)

Think maybe just havent eaten enough today. Tomorrow should be good as I have two indoor soccer games lined up so don't have to think about my exercise.

Welcome to all of the newbies. It is nice to see everyone here!

    Hi Ya,

Last night i went to the gym and jogged for 30 mins at 8.2kph. I was struggling towards the end of it but just kept on thinking about my motivational quote ..."am i a wimp or am i strong?" and i made it through. It was tough as the fans weren't working and i was sweating like a pig and sooo hot too.

Didn't do much weights, so i left. I had to stop at Woolies to get some groceries and was in the bakery section, when i picked up some iced donuts to take home and have just 1. I was still walking around in Woolies and thought "would i be able to stop at just one?" and then thought "guess not", so i put them back. I was so proud! I felt like chocolate so i argues with demons telling them no and that i will have a Lite n Easy Rice Pudding when i got home, so left without the chocolate too!

I had a tomato and cheese toastie and a lite n easy berry yoghurt and that was my dinner. Very proud. I'm home today and am trying to be good, sticking to my Lite n Easy meals but at home i find it much harder to be good. This morning i had a bowl of cereal and will have an apple in a little while.

Krys - i know about the AF cravings! I can eat a big block of Cadburys and probably a loaf fresh bread a few days before it actually arrives. Goodluck with it all. But its ok to cave in once in awhile.

    Hi girls
Turkish delight you are so motivated.Really the last thing i feel like doing when DH gets home at 8.00pm is the gym, how do you wind down when you get home?? I am hanging out for the weekend I have a series of jobs line dup includeing sanding, splitting wood, weeding, carting mulch so feel like my long weekend will be a physically busy one. Goo don you for the thought process and putting the junk back, I often find I really believe myself when I say I'II stop at one.Has'nt happened yet!!! then comes the I'm a failure so I might as well blow it completely thoughts. double

Ammaki, good on you....and getting aPT program worked out, will really help to keep on track.

Krysalyss, keeping your food record is great by the end of the day I find it toot hard to remember and if I can can't be bothered writting it down. I have in the past and it worked well, sort of more accountable???

sass did you get your walk in??

Hi to everyone hope all is going well.

My eating is going well and yesterday I parked the car and walked everwhere i needed to go when out shopping, my tummy is looking flatter already??? I have a thyroid problem it is becoming slower, every test i get done it is get closer to being out of the normal range, probablly next time i go it will be out !!! in theroy I should be struggling to lose weight, so far that has'nt happened, so I hope I can get most of it off before it becomes a problem?? Catch you all later keep up the good work.

    Hello All,

Just thought i'd pop in for today. being at home = no time for BB. I am sooo busy. i only get a chance at work and plus the kids can't interrupt me then either.

Amy- the L&E is great. All the meals are prepared and so easy to take to work as it is all ready for you. The convenience is the best thing about it, i think. The food is ok, but after awhile you get sick of eating the same foods over and over as L&E only do about 2 menu changes per year. The dinner's are ok too. I used to love them, but now i can't even stomach them, so i am just on the breakfast and lunch plan. I'm a very fussy eater, so the variety isn't much for me. Check out their website and see if the meals are for you. It is cost effective too (i think). I pay $71 per week for 5 days of brekkie and lunch. If i had bought lunch every day at work, it works out to be the same amount. So i'm happy with it.

Well done on the 1hour walk i tried that ab cruncher machine thingy () you were talking about and i couldn't even get the headrest up, so i applaud you for being able to do 50 The PT there couldn't even get it to work

Pam- I never wind down. I am always on the move at home anyway. I can never sit in front of the telly and watch a show without doing some chore. When i sit to relax, i fall asleep! DH texts me when he's in our street and i hop in the car and leave. I prepare his dinner prior, bathe and feed the kids so there isn't much for him to do. Thyroid and losing weight is hard. I have a lady at wotk with the problem and she is huuuge. So i hope it gets under control before much longer. I hate outdoor work, and all your chores seems soooo physically demanding.

I won't be able to hit the gym, til Tuesday as DH is working this weekend and Queen's birthday holiday and the gym shuts early on weekends and public hols. I had recorded some aerobics programs from Foxtel, so i'll be doing those each day. For those with Foxtel, its the Total Body Sculpt program on the Discovery Health Channel. It's on Saturday mornings at 7am, from memory.

I had a BBQ last night at home. Over-indulged a tad, but i promised myself to be very good today. Let's see if i can stick to it..

    have a good one girls...
