Nattyfred woohoo another woman Springing into action You will be loving the new you when you arrive in Sunny Brisvegas!
nironotrom (love your username!) you sound like you've got such a great plan, wish I could do Zumba, looks like so much fun and the bods on the adverts are HOT. But my knees won't allow for it Swimming, walking, biking and gym are about it for me.
hannanat You will get there! I think you may need to look at substituting some thing rather than going cold turkey? I was just thinking this morning that I might start just having water in the mornings rather than tea as I load it up with honey and a good dash of regular milk, I could probably do without the tea in the warmer months anyway.... Then I won't be tempted to eat chocolate biscuts with tea throughout the day either!
Sunny YAYYYYYYYYYYYYY I'm in a thread with my fav girl So happy you are on this mission with me MWA!
I am in - 8kg to go. Committing to running(ok so trying to run) min 3 times a week rather than sporadically. Drink more water. Also moving more and no more snacking, finishing leftovers or bad choices.
Nothing changes if nothing changes right???
The house is almost clean of tempters. Last night we finished the choc cake and the moon cakes. Checked the cupboards for hiding chippies etc and was happy to find nothing- Except the 2 bars of choc in the fridge. Those are for choc chip cookies for the kids. I'll just have to get some will power there I guess.
The lactation cookies- how bad are they for the diet? I was hoping with dried fruit they would be okay.
Last day of school holidays and of summer (offically) here.
Lactation cookies are my undoing! I am better with store bought stuff than baked stuff, because I don't eat as much of it.
I chatted with DH last night about this. He thinks 4 is a wussy number and I should go for 7. I don't know if 7 is do-able, but I will give it a red hot go.
Eating strategies:
* portion control - I used to get madly hungry in early BFing days, but now that she's feeding less, I really don't need so much.
* better snacking. Going to keep vegie sticks and homemade dip in the fridge at all times
* swap milky teas for herbals. With winter disappearing, I'll be swapping hot drinks for water anyway.
* take own morning tea to outings. Fruit bread, crackers and dip etc, rather than cake.
Exercise strategies:
* 30 minute walk every day (at least one)
* 3 other workouts, probably 2 cycling, one swimming
* At least one of the 3 has to be hardcore.
Motivators:
* being skinnier than SIL (works for me every time)
* looking great in a bikini
Rewards:
Trying to come up with something here. New jeans? Hardly a motivation in summer. New dress? Maybe. weekend away? If we can afford it. I'll keep thinking.
Hmmmm. I have been watching from the outside. Am I in or not? Ummmm, well, maybe……….
Yeah ok. I really do need to lose some of this weight, although it has come from my writing up my thesis - a different kind of baby And I did just join the gym at work. I think I am scared to step on the scales and take measurements!
OMG OMG OMG KRYSALYSS is IN!!!!! YAHOOOOOOOO I was secretly hoping that you would find this thread, lucky you did or you may have seen a pm from me in your inbox. SO happy you've jumped on board, you were so inspiring when I lost 8kg's in the pre Christmas challenge thread that you started not last Christmas but the one before Both you and snugbug totally keep me going YAY.
kaytee & doubletrouble I think the lactation cookies are OK, you are the judge of what you are eating anyway but hey I think a couple of cookies a day is fine, just as long as you don't go overboard and that is the only treat you are having
Audux, thanks for the reminder of the dips and veg sticks, I totally need to do that! I'm making so much food for ds that I'm sure I can whip up a few yummy dips for the fridge. mmmmm and flat bread cut up and baked in the oven is really nice to eat it with too.
nattyfred thats a decent effort, so hope you loose that 13kg in this challenge
