If you haven't got any borax i find bicarb lots of white vinegar and a kettle full of boiling water left to soak overnight usually does the trick (I'm pretty good at it too lately).

Heheh, the pot has been in the dishwasher a million gazillion times. Dude, the rice is soooooo stuck on that it actually looks like the bottom of the pot is black and not silver
