I average 2 loads a day, but weekends can be more as we go through a lot of towels and togs since we put a pool in. Some days can be up to 4 loads, depending on whether I'm washing sheets and towels that day. We have 5 people in our house.

Bath towels get washed every 3 days, all sheets washed twice a week (for 4 beds, 2 queen, 2 single - usually wash the single beds ones same day, the queen sets the other days).

I normally do 2-3 loads a day. There is two adults and two babies in our household. I do a load of nappies every day and then alternate a day of baby stuff and then a day of DH & my stuff. Then about every third day I do a load of towels, and change the sheets once a week.

Usually only either 1 or 2 loads. Most of the time it's every second day.
Depends on what we've been doing, and if we're at home.

I don't seperate colours either. We have hardly any light clothes.

We probably average 2 loads a day. We have a 7kg machine. There are 2 adults, 1 teen and and 2 children in our house.

I agree that washing a towel after every use is excessive. My water bill would probably be double if we did that. I grew up on farms with tank water which was too precious for waste. We wash towels when needed... usually about every 3/4 days. I wash all our sheets every Monday. I separate colours fastidiously and only use cold water with darks to prevent the colour fading.

Our grey machine water is collected into a wheelie bin and then used to water our rose gardens... the suds are good for keeping pests and diseases at bay apparently.

I wanted to read all the other posts before I posted - but I have no need to be embarrassed!!!!
I wash probably every 3-4 days. Then I throw it strait in the dryer (even if it's a sunny day). All the clean clothes then sit in baskets for about 3 days before I can be bothered folding it and putting it away.
    I really HATE housework!
PS- I wash sheets around every 2 weeks and towels after 2-3 showers except for the one that goes on the floor - it gets soaked every day

This thread has made me feel SOOOO much better LOL

I do about one a day and that increase the days i wash sheets. I confess to using the dryer sometimes on a hot dry day....

I use MCN so that doesnt help and the baby never has the same towel twice.... My mother cant believe how much i do LOL

You know i have never really kept track of how much washing i do but i would say i do a load a day and on the weekends maybe 2 or 3. But thats normal clothes - DH's work clothes get washed in a seperate machine with no other clothes. I was all DD's clothes on a gentle cycle and so through in my underwear at the same time and if the load isnt big enough then i just put more clothes and they get a gentle wash too.
towels and sheets get done once a week. Due to the lack of room in my place I only have one set of sheets and two towels for each of us so there are none extra laying around....and it makes sure i make the bed!

I average 10 loads a week. That's with 2 adults and a toddler, using cloth nappies. And DH is a tradie who gets filthy, so I was his work clothes seperately.

With our new arrival I think our washing has gone from 8 a week to 10 a week now I like the idea of washing at night off peak, when are these off peak times?

I wash up to three/ four times a week and we have a very large machine!

One load my work clothes, DH 'good' clothes (if they fit in) and PJ
2nd load - DH work clothes and SOCKS (they stink!) he is a tradie!
3rd load - towels, we go through a lot!
4th load - sheets every second week, and anything white other than towels!

on a bad week i could do 5 loads!!! aaahhh once you right it down!

Then when my mum comes to stay it can be twice a day! but small loads
