My waters broke in bed, although it wasn't a big gush till I stood up, however, it did soak through a little later as I tried to go back to sleep, but a few days airing and it was ok. Second time around, we had bought a new mattress and so we just got some painters plastic cover up sheets - and whilst they were crinkly, it wasn't something either of us noticed.
