sorry Nae, I haven't used them so can't help you, but I had to laugh at you having molasses all over your dressing gown......how on earth did you do that?

If you are looking for nice stuff for washing bubs things, I loved using Amolin on DS stuff when he was a baby. The smell still takes me back

I'm sure I've read that lux is no good for nappies because it does leave a residue. Will try to dig that little bit of info up for you.

With Lux Flakes you need to disolve them before adding to your wash, otherwise they'll leave residue.

With regard to the smell, you could try when you dissolve it before adding it to the was next time, adding a couple of drops of essential oil (probably lavender would be best)

From other threads I have read its not suitable for front loaders which is why I trialed it in my old washing machine that we use for woolens.

If you need to soften your water in the front loader try some vinegar (yes it works) or some Lectric soda just a teaspoon dissolved will be enough.

I should mention I had dissolved the Lux flakes first I tend to do this with everything when using the old machine because its not so great these days.

Ok, I'll keep using my vinegar then - I just thought if there was something that made things even softer I'd try that.

no no baking here,

I have brought my two horses home into the jenny craig paddocks (they need slimming down) but its been so cold and wet and neither will wear a rug so I make them up a special breaky with oats, chaff and lucin chaff and dribble molasses all over the top. It seems to stop them shivering. They get a few biscuits of hay at night.

I didn't realise the molasses had dribbled all down the side of the buckets and when I went to give it too them I was covered - ok so I should have been dressed but I just couldn't be bothered I am sooo lazy aren't I

Raven - yes I had heard that for the cloth nappies actually, maybe it was from in here?? I will be alternating between a soft wash and a normal wash me thinks. Just in case, I still cannot believe how soft my dressing gown is.
