There are some thingies that you can buy in the laundry aisle at the supermarket called color away or color off or summat like that. They are little sheety things and they take away the dye (or so they say).
So DD has just started prep this year and over her Easter holidays I decided to soak them all and check for any repairs that needed doing.
I soaked all of her uniforms in hot water with napisan overnight and this morning some of the purple dye ran and has stained all the white bits - all the collars and socks
I decided it must have been her hats that ran so I separated them out and put the shirts and socks straight into the machine for a hot wash with more detergent and napisan and it got some of it out but it's still pretty obviously purple.
What do I do?????

its called Run away
you may have to do them twice so get 2 packs, if not you will have a spare for (not that you will want one) nextime.
runaway made my DH's "pink" shirts white again
And stop washing them in hot water.
Really? I had no idea that was the problem lolcoz I usually only ever use cold normally - I only washed in hot because the dye had run in hot (coz i followed the napisan instructions) - so I thought washing in hot without the hats might (although I've no idea lol) have run the dye again and got it out.
I really am a crappy housewife when it comes to.. well basically anything lol
Should I not soak clothes in hot water?

**URGENT WARNING*** Do NOT use the dye run remover for white clothes on coloured clothes - it will strip *ALL* the colour out of them (total unreversible disaster). There is however a dye run remover that is safe to use on coloured clothes, so make sure you use that one!!!
Oh my goodness..... thank goodness you have replied to this thread Marydean!!!
DD's shirts are mostly purple and green with a white collarit would be a DISASTER if it stripped all of the colour - thank you sooooooo much! Can I buy the colour one from the supermarket?
yes but i think it costs a bit more than the one for whites....its a trap for cheapskates lol!
