Hi.
Try soaking in bucket, hot water with Greencare everyday soaker(i know coles sell it) (i think its made mostly from washing soda, so if you can find that by itself it might be cheaper). It removes the grease (so all the body oils that leave the smell). I also make a paste and use an old toothbrush to scrub into the armpits (cause thats where the smell and deo stains most) and leave it overnight before washing it the next day.
I get that problem, but I am a sweaty person. Some tops just seem to smell up more than others. I have found there is very little I could do. I tried piling bi-carb on the area and dousing with lemon juice. Spraying, then soaking. Scrubbing with sard wonder soap, then soaking. It helps for a short while, but then all it takes is for me to get hot and out it all comes. In the end I threw them, as it was just stressful to wear them in case I went somewhere that had the heating turned up.
Now I make sure that I spray the arm pits every wash, even if they do not smell like they need it and make sure I do not put them in the drier, just in case they are smelly and it sets the smell.
Lavender, or Eucy oil. Put a few drops in the wash and a few drops with some water in the fab softener dispenser in the middle of the agitator.
Works a treat for stinky nappies...sure it will work for teeshirts! lol
