Spring is in the air and I am starting to tally up the jobs for a big spring clean. I just noticed the fly screens need to taken down and washed and all the windows cleared of dirt and spider webs!
We also have to re-do the shed (and locate baby clothes!) and clear out closets of out of season gear.
Well for one I still get confused that is Spring next, September, October etc sounds like should be Autumn to me :-). Second problem is I have never done a spring clean in my life - but I might not have work for the next few weeks so I am going to use this thread and do something - fly screens is a great thing to do. Also they are running GarageSale Trail at end of October which I think is a great idea and enjoyed the other year so will try have one this year so will have to get stuff sorted for that.
Blinds, windows and some walls... we just moved into a rental that was not so clean, but four kids and a new baby makes it hard to get to the 'extra' cleaning.. I rang my mum and she is coming to help me spring clean next week!
EVERYTHING!! Lol. I am in serious nesting mode but work is taking it out of me and when I get home I just look at the stuff with no actual will or energy to do it So when I'm on leave I'll work through:
- Organising the pantry
- Organising the WIR
- Cleaning the mould that has started to appear on some of the window sills
- Washing all the windows and fly screens
- Clean front door
- Tidy up ensuite and cabinet
- Tidy up second bathroom cabinet
- Tidy up baby room
- Completely clean and organise office & paperwork
I think there might be more and it sounds totally lame but I'm so excited to get into it lol.
I have done some big cleans the last few days (the house needed it!), but still have some more to do.
* want to go through all the bags of kids clothes that no longer fit, and check what i want to keep, what is good for op shop, and what can go to shed for rags.
* windows, curtains (when weather better) and fly screens
* clean gutters
* weed and feed the lawn and spray/pull weeds
* possibly swap kids room and toy room around
* do toy organisation and cull.
* sell, give away or dump stuff we no longer use or need (i have hoarder tendencies but am trying not to give in to them)
Clear out WIR to make room for bubs clothes
Clean windows and frames in the bedrooms at least (vaporiser has meant that we have a mould outbreak)
Reorganise the bookshelves to fit the five bags of books we've inherited
Go through baby clothes and make a list of things Bub will need
Get on top of the regular housework. It is out of control.
Then
-sort out the hallway cupboard, organise some more shelves and a space for my vacuum cleaner, mop, broom, linen, etc. Unpack the last few boxes stored there.
- empty out the storage area in DS room and sort out what is to be kept and what is to be sold/ thrown out.
- get baby stuff sorted out. <- thats kind of a priority even though it relies on the other things being done because I cant get to or put away anything until they are! *stress!!*
- kitchen and carpets are yet to go in. So once they are done it will be easier. I hope!
Its all just a bit much at the moment so Im just trying to focus on the regular housework and get that under control.
