Hi guys,
good intentions out the window again I am soooooo going to bed after I have posted this!!!
Gargy, it sounds like your work is really rewarding, I admire what you do!! I don't feel confident with older age groups lack of experience I guess (the thought of Paige as a teenager sends waves of dread through me already)
I don't know if I've mentioned this before so forgive me if i am repeating myself.
I work full time in a 50 place long day care centre, I have been working in child care for 12 years now.
I work in the 3-6 year room and we have 30 children with 3 staff (not the easiest place to work when you have fertility problems, but I have enjoyed it)
DD attends the same centre but is in the baby room soon to be moving to the toddler room(sob) This has made going back full time a lot more bearable.
I have a deal with DH that when we are able to have another baby I won't have to return to LDC instead I will be opening up a family day care buisness so I can be at home more with DD and hopefully a future bubba (this may happen a little sooner once DH's probation is up and we get a little bit further ahead)
Have been getting a little frustrated in the job now it seems I can't do the things I want with the children due to time, numbers, lack of resources, paperwork associated with the job you know the same old reasons (plus I think I'm a little burnt out)
I work a normal five day week with 8 hour days which is why I miss DH so much because I am so used to having him around after work and on weekends.
We are adjusting slowly but it is a lot easier having you lovely ladies to talk to, I really do appreciate you guys!!!!
Have been also toying with the idea of returning to study to do early childhood teaching but not convinced that it won't be a case of same dog different leg if you know what I mean? The pay would be heaps better and the holidays would be family friendly but it's a big outlay of time and money and I am not convinced that it's what I really want to do at this point anyway.
another option that I haven't ruled out is teaching childcare students at TAFE, still need to look in to that option as well.
I selfishly couldn't give up my time with Paige at the moment, after all we've been through to get her every moment is precious (maybe when she starts school).
ok here come 11:00 thats my cue night girls talk to you tomorrow night
