Hi Redlady

I am not 100% across the apparent new laws in Jan 2010, however, it may be worth contacting one of the transport cos. (Medair) who we used to ship embies from Aust to India, and see whether they have experience with sending sperm to Aust. I am sure they would know about this.

If you can ship sperm etc out of the country, I can see no difference in shipping sperm into the country. I know a clinic in Adelaide, Repromed, who are more liberal than others, and have helped tens of couples who are looking at surrogacy in India. The reason I know this, is that I went through surrogacy in India, and have a very good understanding of which clinics in Aust are prepared to assist with this sort of thing (incl. approving the shipping biological material) and which ones are not. More and more clinics are closing ranks, as they are losing business with their IVF clients going offshore for alternative options, hence, their reluctance to acquiesce to couples wanting to ship their material.

Let me know if you need further info. I can always use my contact base to find out more.

Repromed would be worth contacting, as well as Medair Medical Transport in Canada. Andy Davies is the contact, ajd@medair.ca

Good luck with this. Isn't is terrible how this country makes our lives so difficult, when we are already in an unfortunate position with trying to create families...disgusting!
