How worn is worn? What feedback would you give?

    Hi everyone,

I just wanted to get some opinions out there. I bought some boys clothes, I won 3 auctions in total...In each of the auctions she said they were in worn condition, but 3 items have multiple holes in them, which to me is more than worn, it really should be specified and I wouldn't bother selling items in that condition myself. I didn't clarify it, as I just thought they would be in reasonable worn condition.

The photos weren't good enough to see any of the damage as the clothes were all laid over each other. Only this one (220231741336) possibly shows the damage on the jeans, and even then I thought they were fake patches to make it look worn - but no there is 1 patch and the rest are holes all over the jeans (i just ended up keeping them at my mums for him to wear home in case of emergency).

It came to $22.50 in total, which she only charged $20 and threw in a few extra tshirts, and it did say worn (which I didn't clarify, but now I will if I ever bother buying clothes again on ebay)... Would you neg her? She can't neg me thanks to new ebay rules, but I still feel bad doing so (I?ve never negged anyone).

I didn't bother complaining and taking them back, but i was a bit annoyed (DH picked them up, or i would have said something at the time)...Now it's too late to do anything about it, and it was only $20 and I got a few ok items out of it, but I wouldn't have bothered with any of it if I had known the full extent.

I was thinking of just given neutral with something like "some items A LOT more worn that indicated, but otherwise good transaction".

Would you do that? Is it unfair to do it without emailing her first and saying i wasn't happy?

That is not fair Yael, you shouldnt feel bad at all, she should feel bad for misleading information.

Worn = just that, a bit tired/stressed looking... maybe washed one or two too many times

But a hole is a HOLE, to me this is a completely different concept to "worn". I would leave neg feedback hun, if not for any other sake but to ensure she doesnt advertise "holes" as "worn" for the next poor person who buys off her.

Not all items as described in the listing (holes), disappointed, but other wise a good transaction

In the ad you showed us she said "used" condition which isn't very descriptive and certainly wouldn't indicate damage to the clothing. I would definitely expect any faults like holes to be pointed out.

I would contact her first rather than leaving neutral or neg feedback. She may be willing to give you a partial refund or something. At least you've then given her the opportunity to rectify her error and if she doesn't respond or doesn't help you, then you leave her appropriate feedback.

I would read "worn" to mean not great condition at all and would never buy anything described as it.

I would give her only 1 star for the items as described rating.
