    good for you!!

I'm so wary of ebay now, I bought an item a year ago and ended up getting a bargain price...then the seller invoiced me MORE postage than in the item desription because I was in Tassie WTF???

I took it up with ebay and apparantly a seller CAN do that. Bleh!

I bought a blouse for 99c once and the seller then tried to charge me $42 in postage. She pretended that it was what the postage calculator said it should be. I told her I would only pay reasonable postage for it or I would complain to Ebay and so she changed her tune and charged me $8 postage.

I think if the postage amount is clearly listed and it's exhorbitant, don't buy. But if they try to charge you high postage after the sale has gone through, it's quite plain that they're trying to gouge you after the fact and I reckon that needs to be reported everytime.

    Good on ya Maz!

hahah Maz thats great you are sticking to your guns!!!

My pet hate is when they charge unreasonable postage!!!

The funniest thing was my friend bought a pack of A4 CD labeller stickers (and she won them for 99 cents.

Because she was new she didnt look at the postage, it was $15!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for AN A4 PIECE OF CD LABELLER STICKERS!!!!!! (which would have been cheaper at the shops)

She didnt do anything about it but when she told me I told her to report him but she couldnt be bothered and stopped ebaying.

    Did eBay penalise him?

OUCH!! I sell a bit on ebay and try to be fair with my postage fees and always make sure I combine in the one bag when I can...sometimes i send in envelopes if its a small item, once I charged a lady $4 postage on at-shirt (stated in the postage coloum)and when she seen I paid i think $1.65 post she gave me neg feedback, i think thats a bit harsh!! It's one of those things it can be hard to judge if it will go through the slot or not and if it does'nt I would have been out of pocket and no-one ever offers the extra postage you had to pay.
I reckon steer clear of any item that you don't like the postage cost of and if they ever try to change the postage cost afterwards don't stand for it..you might lose the item but then you can always neg them!!!

Pam - I sell stuff on ebay too and have scales here that I weigh stuff on. I use prepaid bags and know the boundries with postage envelopes ex. Shiat Ive even put the difference back into items im sending if its less then I quoted...I jsut got really annoyed with the seller as he said it had to make a wage of the postage as well. He was using it to cover what he was losing in profit in other words.
The doona weighted 1kg and it was sent in a 3kg express bag...a total of $11 not $25...$14 for him to pack it in a bag and drive down to the post office...$15 would have been sufficent for that not $25

    Unhappy

Sadly since eBay fees went up dramatically i have noticed more and more Sellers doing the same thing ... i too am absolutely sick of it as a postage price is a postage price, it's not called postage to cover costs or loses

eBay need to stamp this out & make their policies clearer for ALL to read !!

I too am an online Seller and i couldn't live with myself ripping buyers off in postage ...

Clearly this man (Seller) doesn't care to have regular Buyers, silly man doesn't he realise they can be the BEST customers to have, let alone the best word-of-mouth for advertising.

Just hope eBay pulls their socks up & gets something done about this as it puts me off to buy there (and i ' use ' to call myself an eBay Junkie for a few years there, LOL)
