Sopdet, LOL at Personality Plus, my friend and I went thru a brief obsession with that book when we were about 19...we had ourselves and everyone in our lives mapped out by it! Enjoy

I have been slowly reading Parent Effectiveness Training for the past 3 months. I found it very challenging at first and was very dubious about it but the more that I read and the more I practice the more I am liking it. It is changing me and I am surprised by that.

I am also reading Control Theory in the Practice of Reality Therapy by Naomi Glasser (daugher to Dr William Glasser of whom I am a HUGE fan!) It is about understanding that we are driven by our wants and there are parts of us that we can control (like our acting and thinking) and there are parts of us that we can't control (like our feeling and physiology) but we can use our acting and thinking to change our feelings and physiology. I could talk all day about Glasser and his ten axioms of choice therapy. He is a great man! I'll get off my soapbox now

Sopdet - google a quiz on the five love languages - it is all two choice answers and helps you work out which one you are. Mine was very easy, have a primary and secondary language

Just Me - you aren't alone with the challenging things. In the class I went to, there was alot of that going on, especially at first and especially from the dads! But putting it into practice, speaks for itself

A reminder that this thread is for EMOTIONAL GROWTH & DEVELOPMENT related books

Kelly - I have googled the quizzes before, depends on my mood as to what my primary and secondary languages are. My Myers Briggs results are the same too - some of them change depending on what my mood is.

I'm back reading the celestine prophecy books as well.

The financial book has helped me by making me stop and look at my money emotional growth and development.

I'm reading The Art of Love by Demartini...slowly going through all of them! I'm hoping if I can try and understand how to make a relationship grow before i'm in one then it might work out a bit better!!

Audax you are brave reading anything by Peter Singer. I am too scared to read Animal Liberation because I just know it will turn me into a vegetarian and I am not ready to give up meat yet LOL!

The PET stuff is very good, huh?

And I second googling the love languages quizzes - if only I could get DH to do it

I'm reading the Gift of Betrayl - excellent.
The Alchemist is a great book - I've read many of his books he is a visionary.
Marydean I've read the Agreements as well - like you I needed to do it twice at differnet times in my life to truly "get" it thoroughly...
