To cut a very long story short I have Endo and am 6 weeks pregnant. I had a lap 12 years ago to clear the way for me to have the two children I have who are now 10 and 8.
This was an unplanned pregnancy as I had just had a Mirena removed due to side effects and have been on the pill since the start of May.
My question is I know from my periods and ovulating pains etc that my endo has grown back. With this pregnancy I'm having really uncomfortable (not too painful) pains in my abdomin that i can't reacll having this early on in my last pregnancies.
Could it be a) my age now (36)
or b)the endo grown over everything
I have been constipated by the Elevit I am taking so that not helping but I was wondering if anyone has been pregnant some time after a lap and was the pregnancy painful with everything stretching?
I guess it stands to reason that it would be more uncomfortable with everything bound up but any feedback would be gratefully recieved.
i have endo and yeah, very early on i had really painful jabbing pains from where i had the endo near the right ovary. it was put down to the stretching and after a few weeks settled down. then i had more pain when bubs engaged as i had endo on the cervix too...
HTH and really hope that the pain passes soon. i would mention it to your care provider as irritable uterus is something to keep an eye out for (a couple of the girls on here have/are dealing with it...check back on the endo updates thread, i think some symptoms were mentioned there....)
Cheers for your reply Clare I appreciate it, I'm just going to take every day as it comes and try not to stress about everything so much (yea right LOL I did say try).
Hi
I had bad pain all the way through my pregnancy.
At the begining I thought it was the endo but as the pregnancy continued it became worse and I was told that I had Irritable Uterus. Drs did alot of tests to try and find out what was causing it but everything came back normal. I also had bad constipation and I thought that was caused by the endo stretching around my bowel and irritating it.
I was told that it was safe to take panadole. Also it is safe to take metamucil while your pregnant.
Tell your Dr about it so that it is put on your record for future reference. Also keep a diary of the pain and give it a grade (eg between 1 & 10). This way you can show your Dr how bad & how often you get it.
I too had really bad pain during the early stages of my pregnancy. I even went to emergency one night it was so bad. I got pregnant only a few months after my laparoscopy but already had an endometrioma grown back on my right ovary. The pain did settle down after the first trimester or so.
Definitely mention it to your Dr though
The pains seem to have settled down abit (back to what I would call normal for pregnancy) and I have ditched the Elevit vitamins so the constipation has improved abit too, so all in all things are much better.
