hi is my first post on a forum...
So, I had a miscarriage 2 years ago and had a very painful infection after the miscarriage where I had to spend two days in hospital. My Gyno at the time didnt think it was necessary to have a D&C done. 2 years of suffering very painful periods and two weeks of pelvic pain every cycle, I went to see Professor Peter Maher who confirmed that I have very severe endometriosis. The pain is getting worse and I cant get a date early enough to have surgery. we cant really afford to go private. so I need some insight as to anyone who has had endo surgery in a public hospital and how long the wait is and who their doctors were etc. At the moment, I am looking at going to the Mercy Womens at Heidelbery of the Royal Womens. Is there anyone who could share their story with me?
Hey, sounds like you've had a tough time Sorry to hear that.
I have had severe endo removed in the public system and had to wait for 5 months to be seen. Which I thought was reasonable. This was in Brisbane at the Mater Hospital though. We met our IVF Dr this way - he does one day in the public system and the rest of his time in the IVF clinic that we use.
I hope that you don't have to wait too long.
All the best.
