Your Dr should have explained more about clomid.
Once you start to take it you really need to have regular vaginal ultra sounds to make sure that you are no over stimulating...and producing more than 1-2 eggs at a time.

Clomid stimulates ovulation, it does this by stimulating output of pituitary gonadotropins ( these are the hormones that stimulate the ovarys in females and testicals in males)

Most common side effects are hot flushes & visual bluring.
