I have just started what i imagine the long way to pregnancy. I had an ultrasound 2 weeks ago and was told i have two ovarian cysts one 5mil and the other one 35 mil. I dont see my doctor for another week and i am just wondering if anyone else has had a cyst this size and what did they do to remove it? It sounds pretty big to me but i really dont know alot about it.
Hi there,
I have had a few cysts of similar sizes.
Some of them the body will just absorb and you don't realise that they are they. Some depending on the size - they will do a keyhole surgery and drain them. (Can't remember how big etc) If they are causeing allot of pain or you are still concerned make sure you talk to your dr.
I too thought i'd have along TTC journey, but turned out a little shortner than i was expecting, we now have DD.
Try to stay postive and know you are not alone and we are all here to support you through this.
xx
Thanks for your reply. I actually went and seen the Dr today and he is just going to check it next month to see what is happening with it, i think i was just worried because it seemed large to me. I will be starting Clomid (i think) next cycle so see what happens. There is just so much to take in and i forget to ask things and when i ask the Dr i forget things. So trying to remember and get as much info as i can and take all the advice given.
I had bad abdominal pain about 2 yrs ago and they thought I had appendicitis. I had a Lap done and they discovered it was a ruptured ovarian cyst. I had fluid all in my abdomen. My Dr said that lots of women have ovarian cysts and they never even realise coz they rupture and then the body just absorbs the fluid. Try not to be too worried.
I hope it all goes well with the Clomid. I just found out I have low progesterone levels and have to be tested for PCOS so I might wind up on Clomid myself so I will be interested to see how you go.
Hi Tammara
This TTC journey can be a scary one - full of mysteries (and wonders!). I know it can be daunting to be told you have cysts on your ovaries but it is very common. Most women, as bellaboo34 said, don't even know they have them until they have problems TTC or other related things.
If your Dr has put you on Clomid then that is a good step to getting things sorted out - and if you are being monitored then what better care can you ask for.
I have PCOS and have conceived twice whilst actively trying, and have also recently had a ruptured cyst (measuring 20mm!! in diameter) and my Dr has told me that fertility is not an issue. So basically what I am trying to say (probably badly) is listen to you Dr and don't put added stress on yourself by worrying. If you cannot remember the questions to ask write them down - over the week make a note on your fridge door and then take the whole thing with you and write the answers down too!!! Sounds silly but it will put your mind at rest.
Good luck - hope to see you 'announcement' soon.
T.
