With PCOS you have very irregular cycles which is what prompts most women to go get diagnosed. And with that not every month a woman with PCOS will ovulate but i know myself personally when i do ovulate some months are unbearable as you mention. Same as when i do happen to have a period the period pains are excruiating as well other symptoms are heightened, so instead of light nausea i can vomit, extreme moodiness and very sore boobs.

I suggest speaking to your GP. PCOS can be detected through a simple blood test.

I have PCOS and I have very irregular cycles. But, when I do ovulate (which is probably once every 2-3 months), I go through a "normal" relatively painless cycle - normal AF lasts for 7 days, bleeding is within normal amounts. With Endo, you may have the normal monthly cycles, but the lining of the uterus builds up on other areas of your abdomen, causing severe pain and discomfort for most women, including increased bleeding, heavier, with clots and lots of cramping.

Either one isn't pleasant to have, having both together must be horrible

I am the same as Blackrose. My main concern was my lack of regularity. I actually had fairly good periods when they came. Went to the GP and she did a blood test and sent me for an ultrasound. Bloods came back "normal" but the scan showed the typical PCOS pattern. Apparently to be diagnosed (according to the gyno i then went to) you have to have 2 of the 3 symptoms: ie. 2 of the following:
    1. Irregular periods
    2. Typical PCOS patterned ovaries
    3. Abnormal hormone levels.

Other friends of mine who have bad PCOS also have the unexplained weight gain, and hard to control weight, also excess bodily hair growth etc. They also have crazy bad periods or bad ovulation pains.

Cant help with the endo though sorry. I think go to your GP and they can get you checked and then you can work out what your are dealing with ATB!

I'm one of the lucky ones who has all 3 symptoms as well as insulin resistance - with that the inability to lose weight. Thankfully no excessive hair growth or weird hair in weird places! lol

i dont really get bad period pain, and my period only last about 3 days if that, and still very light mostly all that time,

i might mention it anyways, is it soemthing you always have had, or something you can get, cause im sure they would have picked it up sooner with previous testing to, wonder if same with endrometriosis

traylee01, have you had an internal ultrasound? They should definitely be able to tell from that. If you have pcos you will most likely have too many follicles and then they will run some more blood tests to confirm.
I have pcos and have irregular cycles and light AF too. But my O pains aren't bad at all, only when I take fertility drugs.

If you are considering TTC I would book in to see a specialist ASAP as these things can take time. Good luck

Traylee01 I would ask for an ultrasound just so they can check it all at once. I thought pcos is something you've always had, just may not have realized (ie. I didn't get checked until after I was mÃ*rried because it wasn't an issue for me before). They also say that quite often the symptoms go or it fixes itself after a child (though I know this doesnt happen for everyone) so I would have thought it would be odd or you to get it after a child... But I'm not a doctor

Have you spoken to your gp about it? Is it just the pain that's the problem so far?
