    Hey Trillian

    Hi Trillian,

I hear where you are coming from, and I appreciate that some people may not want to go down that path - neither did I (at least initially!). But I am very glad I eventually did after years of suffering and I can't help but sharing my story and passion for natural health with others. It has also done many things for my extended family- Cancer, Autism etc, so I have seen many small miracles occur due to Natural Medicine (although a Natural Therapist will never tell you that they healed someone, it is Natural Medicine philosophy that the body always heals itself, if it is given the right conditions to do so).
But my point being, if I can help just one person out there by sharing this info- then that is awesome to me. I don't expect everyone to be inspired by my story and go seek a Natural Therapist. People can take or leave anything written here.
As for the AIDS thing- I know it sounds absurd, as it is so far off what we learn growing up, and what society tells us is the norm- but I promise you that there are stranger things out there than people testing HIV positive, and then years later testing HIV negative. There are many people out there who have (by one way or another) acheived this, and they have the medical documentation to prove it. I found it really ashtonishing to discover that myself!!! Of course, however, for the vast majority of people this does not occur, but for the few that it does happen to- perhaps it can give others some hope. I don't know....
I don't really believe many things i am told anymore- I spend a lot of time researching random interesting things- lol. Weird.

I like your signature, by the way. Why are we so afraid of saying 'vagina'? - lol!

I know that you just want to share how great you're feeling now and what worked to make you feel so well, but sometimes it comes across as an affront to others and the choices that they have made for their own treatment kwim?

As for the vagina thing, well some women just don't say it and choose 'vuhjayjay' or 'down there' instead - but we're all women here (well mostly) so we all have one so we shouldn't feel like we are saying a swear word when talking about it.

I see where you are comin from Trillian.

BTW- When I speak to people about my birth, I go to say that "I had a natural birth", where in actual fact, it was anything but natural IMO!! (Long dramatic story...) But I had a vaginal delivery in the end- so I should just say that. Funny how we have trouble calling a spade a spade....

This is kinda off topic, but I just thought I'd ramble for a bit seeing that you mentioned people recovering from HIV/AIDS, you might find it interesting:

A few years ago I watched an amazing docu on pestilence and HIV. I'm a little foggy on the details, but this is the basic gist:
Some researchers had heard stories of amazing recoveries from the pestilence in a small village in Great Britain. They had a theory that the disease was actually caused by a virus not by a bacteria transferred by fleas from rats. This little town had been quarantined during one of the big outbreaks. But a large number of people survived. There were cases of people becoming very ill with pestulence for a couple of weeks, but they got better while some of their family members died. Other stories told of mothers nursing their sick husbands, parents and children eventually losing them all to the horrible disease while the mothers themselves never got sick. This village was pretty isolated, so the gene pool was isolated unitl the beginning of the 20th century. The researchers did genetic studies on the descendants of these villagers and found a high incidence of a small genetic mutation. Further research left them with the conclusion that people who had one copy of this mutated gene would contract pestulance but were able to recover from it. People who had 2 copies of this mutation were immune to the disease. Furthermore they found that people from areas in Europe that had been ravaged by the disease multiple times had a high incidence of this mutation. This makes sense as mainly people with the mutation would have survived, so this mutation would have been passed through the generation.

With this conlusion they then applied the same theory to HIV/AIDS. The same mutation that gave protection against the Black Death, also gives protection against HIV/AIDS as the two diseases have a similar way of getting through the body's defence system and then binding to white blood cells. If you have the mutation, you either don't contract HIV or you can recover from it, never actually developing AIDS. Seeing that Europe and America has a large percentage of descendants of survivors of the plague, this also explains why HIV/AIDS spreads much more slowly there than it does in regions like Asia and Africa where this mutation is pretty much non-existent.

I always had an interest in human genetics, so this story really stuck in my mind.

Oh, and good on you for finding a treatment/cure for your condition. You knwo what, I think we shouldn't feel afraid to try out anything. Well, unless it might be harmful. If it works for you, then that is great. If you get someone else interested and this method works for them, too, that's fantastic.I really do believe what Justin said about the Chinese Proverb "same disease, different treatment". We all respond differently to things. And sometimes our diseases are caused by multiple things. It is so easy to get disheartened when there seems to be no treatment (I know, I had pustular psoriasis and my mum suffers from that and arthritic psoriasis). We have tried so many things. My mum still hasn't found anything that works for her. Mine just disappeared when I was about 4 months pregnant and hasn't returned since).

Ok, I stop babbling on now. All the best to all of you PCOS and Endo sufferers out there. I hope you find something that works for you.

    Hi all,

I notice that the only people who have posted apart from Justin, obviously, are sufferers of endometriosis. What about those who have PCOS? In a nutshell, this is my short story... I was diagnosed with this disease at the beginning of this year, and Jellybean you are right in talking about natural remedies, but they don't work for everyone. I, luckily, didn't get the chance to try a naturopath, my doctor first told me that I had to lose weight, although I wasn't really that overweight in the first place, but anyway, I lost 8 kilos, with a little help mind you from some medication to help me kickstart in the beginning. Now I am 7 months pregnant with my first child!! I literally fell pregnant as soon as I lost that weight.

So just a note to all those who suffer from PCOS... There is hope, these diseases that are mentioned, you can't "reverse" as such, but you can control them, and it doesn't have to be hard.

    Hi Jellybean,

thanks for sharing your story - I don't think I have a cure to my endo but I do have a reasonably happy ending AND I love my natropath (and my obstetrician/gynacologist). I think my biggest weakness is sugar and it's link in with systemic candida. I just can't seem to stick to the candida diet.

But, I take all the herbs/vitamins from my Natropath and had a laparoscopy before conceiving both my children and this approach worked well. I wish I could be more strict with my diet though. My second child (who is 5mths and exclusively breastfed) has just developed eczema which promptly went away when I stopped all wheat, dairy and soy in my diet - so it seemed that when you take out the stuff your body reacts to healing can take place.

so from a body healing itself/different diseases - different causes perspective maybe I just need to be more 'rigid' (can't think of a better word) with my Natropath's advice? Maybe then my endo would be a thing of the past?

Congrats Larissa on falling pg despite your diagnosis of PCOS. I too was told that I would have difficulty conceiving. It is liberating to find what actually helps your condition and defy the odds.
Michelle- I too had systematic candida throughout my body. My Naturopath told me at the time that she had never seen a sufferer of endometriosis or PCOS that didn't have an issue with candida/yeast. Because what happens is, the candida gets to a stage where it is so strong that it actually grows root-like growths (eww-I know), which latch on to the side walls of the digestive tract (candida always begins in the gut), and they puncture holes in the digestive system. This is often refered to as 'leaky-gut syndrome,' whereby undigested food particles exit the digestive tract and wreak havoc in other areas of the body. But, the candida growth also exits via these holes, and thus continues to grow outside of the digestive tract. When candida growth punctures the wall of the uterus (as it does with endometriosis), the endometrium which lines the inside of the uterus is then able to exit and grow on other organs, outside of the uterus. This misplaced endometrium causes your organs to stick together!! Its awful- I know!! The good thing is- the body IS capable of healing all this given the right conditions.
By healing/curing, I don't mean it in a way that entails doing a once off diet or herbal regime that will eradicate it for good. That is the conventional medicine 'silver bullet' approach. Maintaining a state of balance in the body to prevent a condition like this is an ongoing process. If that balance is disturbed in future (ie- by an multitude of factors such as poor diet, toxin accumulation, alcohol, the contraceptive pill, etc) the endometriosis or PCOS is likely to return. But we mustn't typecast ourselves; when endo is not present, we do not have endometriosis. We may have a susceptibility for developing endometriosis, given the wrong conditions, but the body is just as capable of eliminating the condition given the right conditions. Its not so much a matter of cured, or uncured, but of striving for and maintaining a state of internal balance.
I am confident that if I started consuming dairy every day, eating sugary foods, consuming white grain foods instead of brown, drinking alcoholic beverages on a regular basis, and took the contraceptive pill, my endometriosis would return. The 'right conditions' are indeed not the same for everybody, but I do think that if you are vigilant in sticking to your Naturopath's advice that perhaps the endo would have less to feed off. That's ultimately what it comes down do- not giving the endometriosis or PCOS the fuel that they need to feed off. We have to literally STARVE the bastards out of us!!!
With probiotics, alkaline diets, rigorous detoxification and the rest. And even then, keep watch over our habits to ensure they don't return.....
