Are you in contact with your local ABA group? They can arrange a hire pump for you. A really good one might make all the difference.
You're doing really, really well in very, very difficult circumstances. I'm sorry you're feeling really down about this - you brought your girl safely into the world and you continue to nourish and care for her the best way you can.

MadB I'm using the symphony pump by medela... Is that not a good pump? It's what I used in the hospital.

I haven't called the ABA but I will if tomorrows supply drops. Managed to get 250ml today so far and I have another couple of expressions planned yet so hopefully be close to 350mls

That's excellent, really. Just stick consistently to your pumping routine, don't let anything get in your way. You will find that if you had a couple of stressful days where you couldn't pump as often as you needed, then your milk will go down. It may take several days to a week to build it up, but it will happen. The symphony is just what you need. As others have said their should be no reason why you can't hold your baby and let her suckle - you need to talk to the staff and let them know how important this is to you. When they are busy they don't automatically *know* how you feel. Stick in there

oh sorry, didn't read the thread properly! You've got the goods.

The ABA can be a great source of support for you - just having people to talk to and there could well be others in the group who've been through something similar.

Is your hubby around? Or other family who can help you talk to the hospital if you find it hard? You and your baby both need those cuddles

just a thought, are you putting BREWER"S YEAST in the Lactation Cookies, or normal yeast? it makes a BIG difference to use Brewer's Yeast.

Do you get to do any kangaroo care? or does your bub have to stay in the box thing always?

I hope you get to hold her, i can't imagine how heartbreaking it must be for you hon, to want her with you, but to have to live an hour away.

i hope you get some ABA help soon (i mean in real life, apart from Barb Glare online) because the LC in hospy, can be quite different from private LC's and ABA counsellors.

You need support right now, i know you REALLY want to breastfeed your bub when she comes home, this time RIGHT NOW is really critical, you're going thru a rough patch, get help NOW, before it goes downhill. Breastfeeding help is a time sensitive thing, when you need it, you REALLY need it right there and then. I found hospital the LAST place i got decent bf-ing advice (yet my brain thought it was the BEST place to get bf-ing help). To my surprise the aba people knew so much more about bf-ing, when i assumed the hospital people would know the most.

doesn't matter WHO helps you, as long as you get the help you need, WHEN you need it.
