I'll take her for you! Noone in my family gives a rats about me and my kids. They are all to busy thinking about themselves. I understand how you feel but I would certainly give priority to people who want to be in their lives. It isn't like she is doing what my mother did and saying she was a Grandmother then only ever sending them gifts and never coming to see them because we lived "too far away".
You are SOOOO lucky to have so many people in your family and life who want to help you. Let them, and who cares if she is annoying I say, if she loves your kids you can't ask for much else.
Have to agree with Nickle on this one. A family is what you make it- regardless of who is the actual grandparents etc.
My kids have many people in their lives who are 'grandparents' who love and care for them equally. They are:
My grandparents (in their 90's)
My parents
DH's parent
My aunt (who also has her own grandchildren, but treats mine just as she treats her own)
A friend in their 60's who migrated to Aus about 5 years ago and has no family here.
I respect every one of them and see the joy they bring to my children as well as the joy my children bring to them. Most see the kids at least once a week- and all live more than an hour away.
as someone who has no family around (or the ones who are around are too self centred) to help....... I think you should be thankful for her presence. personally I find it really frustrating when people who have all the help and support in the world complain about it. send her my way.
sorry to be blunt but I think you should be more gracious.
Your children are so lucky to have so many people who love them. Children can never be loved too much.
If you want her to stop asking you for play dates why not set up a regular appointment. I would love to have extra hands at football each week or swimming.

Also, I think that you need to stop the money going into your dh's bank account. I think if she wants to set up a kids account for your kids and put money into it, then that's her choice, but putting it into your dh's account just seems kinda strange to me.
