Thanks N2L. I think there will be a big part of it that does depend on individual family dynamics but was just wondering what may stand out stronger.

BeautifulMadness I enjoy my relationship with my MIL, it's also a little easier than the one i have with my mother at times

I feel like i've lost my brother in my 'family' i do my best to keep in touch with him myself but as for family get togethers there's always a reason why they aren't able to make it.
