    Number three and crazy schedule

    Hi!
Number 3 is due in March. That is daunting enough as it is, but I just wondered if anyone else has the older 2 who have certain activities, and what it was like having a 3rd and having to take them everywhere. We have things like school drop off and pick up, kindy drop off and pick up (not near school) DD1 does dance, and will do ballet next year and band. She is talented so I wouldnt' take her out of any, she loves them too. DD2 will be doing dance during the day and then ballet either afternoon or during a day. So basically if I had each child as an only child, it would be quite manageable! I guess I just want to hear that others have managed with number 3 coming and spending a fair bit of time in the car!

Saying that, we will have about 4 week days at home during the day, so it's not as though bub won't get to sleep at home. We will also always be home by 5.30pm, so dinner/bed routine can be kept the same. (I am a huge bedtime routine fan, so that won't change).

Am I taking on too much? I just couldn't bear for my girls to have to give up what they love because I am having another baby. xoxoxo

Oh I hear ya! To be honest the first year was pretty easy as the youngest can't go anywhere but the pram lol! They just have to deal with it! I found it hard once DD2 started crawling/walking as she wouldn't just sit in the pram anymore. DD and DS after school activities have always been things that I can just drop them off at. As much as I would have liked to stay and watch Karate/gymnastics/ballet/swimming the logistics just made it really hard (not impossible).

But it can be done and when I look at other parents whos littlest ones have gotten used to sitting quietly and watching their siblings activities I do feel envious - DD2 would never do that now and I miss out on a lot, esp Karate as they are quite strict about little kids running around and making lots of noise.

Yes it's a pain getting in and out of the car all the time but I like being busy so it works quite well for us. It also gives the kids less time to get bored!

Goodluck and don't stress, by the time you youngest gets to the point where they are starting to be difficult, you'll already be so efficient at it!

    congrats on your pregnancy.

Even though my older 2 aren't at school one goes to a three year old kindy and we go to 2 or 3 playgroups each week, including running one so have to pick up keys and set up etc. I really try hard to keep the routine the same an dod everything they are used to - number 3 just has to fit in! it is a pain in the bum having to lug her out of the car and back again only for 5 minute things but you just do.
Isla is only 13 weeks so probably wouldnt have a routine yet anyway but i think it will be difficult for us to establish one with her having to fit around everyone else. I think it is important not to stop the activities with the olde rones when new bubs arrive or they could resent bubs. I'm sure you will cope, it's not great but then it's not forever!

    all the best

Thank you both, that's all good to hear!! And you're right PM, it's not forever!! I have to remember that.
but saying that, CQ, I too like to be busy, and alot of our things are drop offs. Actually there's only one thing I think that Im allowed watch at this point!
Thanks again, i do feel better now!! xoxo
