He was really trying to cheer you up, so let it work And tell him again after a few days how much you loved them, he'll feel really useful then, and men love that! My DH loves it when I tell him again that the flowers are lovely, more than when I say thanks in the first place.

Do you have a park nearby? Although we have a fair sized yard, I've been taking DS to the park a few times a week recently, and he loves it! Even if it's just for half an hour to burn some energy, it's great.
