When it was just the 2 of us we sat in front of the TV every night. Before DS was born we talked about how important we both thought it was to eat together as a family. As soon as DS was old enough to sit in his high chair we all started eating together at the dinner table, as a family. It's wonderful. We talk to him and ask him about his day. He eats the same as us and feeds himself and he loves it. And we love it too.

On the rare occasion that DP isn't home for dinner I will sit with DS while he eats his dinner and then once he is in bed DP and I will eat together, in front of the TV. LOL.

I hope that you can talk your DH around because it's a lovely feeling to have the family around the table.
