Yep, I am known to use every other name first (including the dog's) before I hit the right one...

This is normal in my family (which is huge) abd everyone does it. Generally go thru several names before the right one, just as likely a pet's name will come into it as well as siblings, parents, aunts, uncles and cousins.... Doesn't help when you've got double ups like Thomas Andrew, Andrew James & John Arthur James....

I was an only child but my parents still managed to call out the dogs names when looking for me!

I've only had 2 for a day but have already caught myself calling Aubrey, Imogen. They look so similar, it is almost like going back in time.

My mums always done it. Sometimes she'll throw the dogs names, or her sisters names in the mix before she catches the right one.

=) my mum does this ALL the time, she starts at the top and works her way down the list until she hits the name she wants.

My brother has never let her live down that one day she called the dogs name before his in the list. =P
    My Dad does this.
I only have DD at the moment, but I have called DH by the cat's name...

Yup, and both my girls names start with E as well so twice as confusing... I also do it to my sister's kids and she to mine.

I only have one and I still call him the wrong name (usually my sister's damn names starting with the same letter!)

My Nan used to go through all the names of the family before she'd finally get it right

My mum has four kids...Im not sure how often I have ever been called my right name first time!!!!
We all just answer to whatever name she calls us these days....especially when we are the only one with her...funny my dad never had that problem with our names.
    Its funny!
