Oh the first rolls are just the most divine thing

It reminds me when we caught up with our mothers group one week, all th eother babies had lots of gorgeous rolls. Nakita had started to get a crease (the beginnings of a roll) on her thigh, I was soo darned excited, I think the other girls thought I was a bit nutty

But I think it was really just a lack on understanding...

To hold and cuddle your child for months on end, feeling and knowing there are so skinny, their bottom not being round and plump, but a series of creases of skin. When they raise their eye brows there are rolls of skin, with features similar to a very old frail person. To see a baby fill out, the bones dissappearing and the facial features rounding out, it just a beautiful moment and should be treasured. It begins to lift those fears and the feelings of failure, finally I am doing something right (even though all along your have been, but you finally get to see the rewards)

Nakita is doing well, she has started puling up on furniture and has the desire to want to walk, she really wants to run, but still has a lot of work on her stabilizing muscles and core before she will be a stable walker. I estimate sometime in the new year, unlikely between now and Christmas. She is taking some steps holding on with one hand, but has a very wide stance and is quite unstable and doesn't seem to be able to maintain and centre of balance. But it will all come in time, we are just over the moon with her developments since starting physio 5 months ago

I am just so hapy for you, that the Pedi is making a difference, I can't wait to see how big she is by her Paed's appointment!

    Take care and warm hugs

I tried to post a while ago but I ended up losing the post, then forgot to get back in here and re post it. So sorry in advance girls.

Beema- I hear you with the rolls, its so nice to see them appearing especially when there werent any signs of them to begin with. It just makes you feel like things are going in the right direction. I dont think some people really realise the im pact these the rolls have on us until they experience it themselves. Speaking of bottoms, I can see V's butt get a little chubbier, yet her thighs just put a smile on my face.

V is doing the same as Nakita, walking around the furniture, she isnt steady on her feet though still alittle shakey mainly when holding one hand, so may take a while before she can take her first steps on her own. I am so thrilled for you that Nakita is progressing well, what a journey you have been on.

Since last time I posted here, V was doing well until the weekend and ended up sick. So now trying to get her to eat properly again. So I am hoping that with her being sick it hasnt interfered with her weight gains. I guess I will know for sure soon. I am thinking of you and Nakita... hugs.

thepixie - Thanks so much for popping in hun, It is such a good feeling seeing the fat appearing, she is still quite small though, but she is getting there. I really appreciate you coming in. Thanks again. Hugs

Great news csab on the chub front, I love it when the little bum gets round and plump, Nakita's is lovely now

How is Miss V going since the weekend, is she increasing her intake again? I hope that a little bump has little or no impact on her gains, but I think the Paed will be happy with the improvement so far, she has come a long way in such a short amount of time with the Pedi.

Nakita's walking is improving all the time, physio is pushing her further each time and we have a little push along trolley, with a couple of sandbags in it as it slips on the polished concrete floors, so it can't go too fast and she is loving pushing that, we just have to turn it for her as she can't turn it yet.

We have another physio session Monday then we have a break until January when she gets assessed again, but we are hoping that she will get discharged then, we saw the senior physio Monday before our normal session and she was really happy with her development since the intervention and said she will be walking in to our session in January

Take care and praying for lots of chubby rolls for Miss V :hugs:

Thanks Beema, V has the flu, so still hastn been eating a great deal unfortunately. I did have her weighed on Friday, and was 6.75kg fully clothed and a bit of a full nappy. Will find out next week though how much exactly she has put on at the peads next week. She now has 12 teeth. Her Dr, seemed to think she looked skinnier than last time she saw her, but longer.

How did Nakita's physio go today? I hope all went well. Wanted to say, what a great idea with the sandbags. The walkers go too fast for V too, so worry she is going to fall flat on her head.
Do you think Nakita has small ankles and wrists. V has such tiny ankles and wrists, We were at a little boys b'day party yesterday and I was looking at some fo the bubs there and their ankles looked huge compared to her. One little girl is 8weeks older than V and I swear her ankles are 10times the size of V's.

Cant wait to hear how everything went for little Nakita, I so hope she blew them away with how wonderful she is doing.

    Hugs

Hey csab, I hope Miss V is over the flu now, poor little munchikin, I hope this weeks weighin goes well, thinking big fatty vibes for Miss V, 12 teeth WOW!!! I think we are up to about the same, getting trickier to see

N's ankles and wrists were very small for a long time, but since she chubbed up a bit they have filled out, but I clearly remember looking at other bubs rounded out feet and seeing N's skinny little feet I wondered if they would ever fatten up!

Last weeks physio went really well, she didn't do anything particularly new, but was good as usual in the sessions, still not a fan on the big fit ball, I think we have only had one session where that didn't result in tears

We have a break now with the physio until January, and you saw that last night she took 6 steps, unaided, it was awesome!! She wouldn't have a bar of it today at DC or home tonight, but she will do it again in her own time

She is still shaky on her feet, which is why we were really surprised when she did walk, holding onto two hands she is quite good, one she slows right down, behind the trolley she is quite quick.

We are doing lots of practice with her on the carpet upstairs, as out floors downstairs are polished concrete and not so nice to fall on your bum on!

It is a bit bizarre now that she has made those few steps I do woder how long it will take before she begins to actually walk, it doesn't really matter when that is, but to have a mirror ball

I hope all goes well with your appointment this week, and will hopefully pop back in when I have a break in work (my new job is crazy!!)
Take care and healthy fatty vibes for Miss V xxoo

HI Beema, hows everything going? Has N had her physio yet, or when is it this month. I hope she gets good results. How is that walking going? V is still pushing her walker around, doesnt appear to feel gain to try and stand on her own or walk on her own with out the help of the walker yet. I am not worried though she will get there in her own time. Just hope the the DR's dont start whining about her not walking on her own come March though. Thats if she hasnt started on her own by then.
V is going well with the pediasure, at her last appt she was 6.54kg with the pead (bare weight). Had her weighed with the dietician clothed yesterday and she weighed 7kg, so I am thinking about 6.8kg bare. She is now 70cm. She is also talking about only having one more appt and then maybe not having to see her again, so fingers crossed for that one.
How was your christmas and New Years. I hope you had a wonderful time and so did little N.
Cant wait to hear how N goes with her appt. Ohh thanks for telling me about N's little ankles, it will be great to see V's fill out. Hugs

I also forgot to tell you that I talked her pead into letting us see how the pediasure works for V before we take her to the childrens hospital, thankfully he was happy to do the wait and see approach as he was also quite happy with her weight gain when he weighed her, so yay for that.
    xoxo

    Hi Csab

Work is crazy, but challenging, it was a pity that the job was left is such a mess, I feel I am finally getting it sorted than I find something else that is just in a shambles and things that were supposed to have been done weren't, but at least it isn't me that has done the wrong thing I just get to sort it all out!

Nakita has her physio appointment on the 25th of January, it will be great to take her in and she can show off making her steps, she will do quite a few now if we squat down and keep moving back so that she still fells close to us. In the last day or two she has finally gone from just going person to person, to going from the couch to a person. Generally she is happy to walk holding onto one of our hands or two, and is just building that bit of extra confidence to walk by herself.

And tonight she actually got down from the couch by herself But I didn't get to see it as I was upstairs getting her bits and pieces for bed, but DH said she rolled over, spun around legs over the side and slid down - we have been practicing it for months

We have her 18 month check coming up I was hoping to book it in on Friday, but we have people coming to work on the house But hopefully soon

That is just wonderful news about V's weight gains, I am absolutely thrilled and that they have allowed you to keep going without going to the Children's Hosy I think she will be fine walking by March, she is showing great signs by walking behind the trolley, and it just takes time and confidence, and the more time she spends behind the trolley the more her confidence will grow.

WOW maybe just one more appointment WOW, oh I am really crossing xxxxxxxx my fingers for you on that one, it would be just wonderful if that was the case.

Christmas and new years was lovely, catching up with family and friends an keeping it all pretty casual

Thankyou for the update, jsut wonderful news and I hope that with the next weigh in she flys past 7 kg bare

    Take care xxoo

Beema- Wow, can you believe your little Miss N is 18months already, it goes too quick. I am still getting my head around V being 15mths. Let me know how her 18mth check up goes and also how her Appt on the 25th goes. I am sure she is going to knock their socks off with how wonderfully she is doing.
Its such a good feeling seeing them try things on their own, like getting off the couch. V still wont attempt it unless she is sitting on me then she will slide down. With some strain in her face, until she touches the floor.
V is also lacking in confidence, but as I mentioned she will ge their and so will Miss N.
I had forgotten to mention our visit to the genetics Dr last month, she is wanting us to still come back and see her but in 18mths time, so a while yet. I still believe they are trying to find a syndrome on V, as they are trying to push for more tests to be done. I mentioned to them that the only thing I am concerned about was her weight, nothing else. She is doing everything that my others were doing at her age, their is nothing there that is concerning me. So if she is happy and doing everything she should be then I dont want to disrupt that. I have told them that I dont want anymore testing done unless something changes to warrant it. I also didnt want to put her through anything unnecessary especially after what she had already been through, and that she is still getting over her fear of DR's. So she agreed, and also mentioned how happy she is with her progress and mentioned that she will see her in 18mths time. I had asked her to find out if they tested her placenta after she was born, so I knew what condition it was in and to see if the placenta was failing her, so she is looking into that. She said they may have not tested it. Still havent heard from her.
PM me with your mobile number and I will send you a video of her pushing around her walker. She thinks she is the best, its soo cute.
I am so glad you had a wonderful christmas and New Years, we did too. Now its time for getting ready for the next one.
Take Care hun and give Miss N a big hug and kiss from V and I.

Pixie - Hi hun, hows everything going? I hope you had a wonderful New Years and Christmas too. Another year down. Going so fast.
Thanks for stalking hun, it is so nice of you. It is the dietician that is talking about having no more visits, but the Pead is still seeing her every 3mths sometimes less than that. I think their will be a party when we no longer have to see him. Maybe when she is a better weight he may have her visits to him less frequently, so fingers crossed for that. Its funny I held V's hands while she walked so slowly into the peads office so he can see that she is trying. He probably thought ohh just pick her up, but I really wanted him to see for himself without me telling him all the time. Hopefully next time she will be able to run in. hehehe.
How is your little princess going? I hope all is going well for you. Take care hun, hugs
