    Hello there,

You're not the only pregnant gay in the village - I'm one too!

I'm 13 weeks - I conceived via home insemination. A friend donated and I am going to be a single Mum. I have a large group of supportive friends who are looking forward to the first 'gayby' in our group though

    How's your pregnancy going?

We have our 1st scan booked for saturday.
I've been having my bloods done twice a week for the past 2 and a half week because we fell preg in Dec and it was ectopic. My left tube ruptured so I had to have an operation. i've also had 2 miscarriages before that and my hcg never doubled the way that it should and one m/c at 12 weeks and one at 7wks. This one's hcg has doubled perfectly and my symptoms are so strong like i've never had before so i am hoping its a fabulous sign.

mY lovely partner asked last night if I thought the baby would be queer.... She seems to think it will be given we are and the sperm...
So it's a social experiment too... hehehehehe

Our bestfriends got together 10 years ago and introduced but we were with other people but she would come into my salon for haircuts from the day i opened the doors in 2006.
There was always a connection. We left the others and have now been together for 18months.... But it feels like forever.

    That's me....

We are both so excited. The father will be known as the father but my partner will be the other parent on the birth certificate. He travels alot with his business so it works out well for us..

    whats your story?

Great to hear your home insemination has worked, we start home inseminating in October and I feel a little stressed about it working. I'd be delighted if you could give us any tips for success.

I'm more than happy to give you some advise. As you can see by my ticker we are over 12 weeks now. We have a scan booked for thursday so if all goes ok, we are going to start letting everyone know.
I don't know how you can wait!!
Once we'd made the decision, it was hard to wait!
Obviously we had blood tests done to make sure he was STD free.....
Tracking is the thing that helped us.
Going by the books, they say you ovulate 14 days before your period. By tracking with ovulation predictor kits, I found I ovulate 9 days before my period. So that stopped all the business being done 5 days too early.

Do you have a known donor?
    How exciting for you!
I'm laying in bed as nausious as you could get. It's unreal!

We have to wait because our friend(doner/dad) arrives from England! But your right, its very difficult to wait. My sister to sent me a fertility monitor, it track every day of your cycle and apparently gives you a 6 day window of fertility. We're also armed with "The New Essential Guide to Lesbian Conception, Pregnancy and birth" ! so bring on October!

Just a query though, do you think its true that the sperm should have the least exposure to the air as possible in order to be at its best? eg. placing a lid on as soon as possible after ejeculation? or am I over thinking it all?

WARNING!!!!!! Too much information to follow!!!!

They say in that book and one other, hold it close to your body and inseminate as soon as possible.
We were in our room, getting ready, the donor would be down stairs, do his business in the specimen cup, then he'd suck it up into the syringe, get the air out and deliver it to our door.
From ejaculation to insemination, was never more than 30 mins.
Then we would inseminate, make love, I'd have an orgasm then sit with my bum propped up on a pillow and legs up the wall for 20 mins.
Sorry for too much information but it worked for us.
