Ok SOOOOOOOOOOo the Dr seems to think that my Vit D deficiancy is playing havoc, has anyone else heard of Vit D def doing this?

I was in so much pain earlier i was nearly crying changing Z!

He said if not that maybe Calcium def, he hardly asked if they were swollen etc just as soon as i said aching fingers jumped straight on Vit D.

    ?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ??????????????

Told me to take Panadol for the pain and come back in 3 days for the results.

    Update

Got the blood test results back and as i suspected it WAS NOT my vitamin D, even though i have been lazy with my supplement my levels are back to normal!

HOWEVER he said my levels for rheumatoid (sp?) athristis were a 14, anything ABOVE a 14 is normally to be looked at, so i have to go back in 3mths and get them checked again... please cross your fingers for me that this is NOT what it is.

Does anyone have any info on this?

butterfly warrior may have a little information hun - she has a weird form of arthritis but has done a lot of reading. sounds like your ESR was elevated maybe - it's an indication of inflammation. can be up if you have viral inflammation too....

did the doc offer you any help in the meantime? prescribe anti-inflammatories?

if you are still having pain, i would go for a second opinion.

He just said to take panadol as i am BFing so can't take anti-imflamatory's.

My hips still ache a little if i sleep on one side for too long but the knuckles are down to a dull ache every couple of days... if it gets that intense again i will be going back to my normal Dr and asking them to do the tests, otherwise i wait the 3mths, go back and see if that number has increased.

Oh bugger bugger bum. I knew anti-inflamms were not recommended during pregnancy but was looking forward to being able to take them again when bub is here. Will have to see if i can find any that are ok.
