Agree with the others - it is good to get bowel bleeding checked out just in case.

Could be a fissure too that's definitely a razor blade like feeling!

I think if any of us were told as young girls that this is what we have to look forward to when we become Mums that none of us would have had kids such a glamourous life isn't it?

J- A small amount is most likely to be a 'roid or fissure. Especially with the pain you describe.

But a lot of bright red blood can be a bleed from the GI tract which is really serious. Even though it is probably nothing, always best to get rectal bleeding checked out.

If you ever get a lot, as in half a cup full or more, you should go straight to drs. Blood when wiping and a few drops in the bowl is no considered to be a lot. (just to clarify )

Sometimes a 'roid will burst and there may be clots & bleeding (yay!) - when that's happened to me it's given me relief from the 'roid similar to that achieved when one's been lanced.

Hopefully you'll feel better in a few days

Ive always had painful complicated pregnancies never blissful, but im scared now, with this being normal after having babies what the heck do we do to our selves. My goodness my kids better wanna care and love and look after me in my old age.

My Mum has just been to the Dr re this problem and mentioned that her sister has something similar and he told her to always get it checked out asap. I don't think he was trying to upset her but trying to make sure it wasn't ignored.
Just for peace of mind I would be going to the Dr.
