Question bleeding from the bowels (TMI)

i assume i have a haemarroid (sp) as i often bleed with bowel motions, but today it was alot of blood, more than normal when i wiped and when i went to flush i noticed the water in the bowl was very pink i never had that much before, can i assume its just a roid or could it be more?? im going to try and see my Dr this week, but want some reassurance that is all it probably is, i should also say it very rarely hurts when going to the loo, sometimes feels like there are razor blades!!

I have hemorrhoids and there can sometimes be alot of blood like that, and yeah razor blades is a good description sometimes!

But I'd get it checked out to be sure.
Have you been a bit blocked up? Or was the bowel motion a bit more solid than usual? That'll definitely stir up a roid or 2.

    Could it be a fissure?
I have one that only plays up every now and again but when it does it is exactly as you described.

It is more than likely due to your little friend but any bleeding from the bowel should be investigated hun. You don't have to be really worried, but it is still concerning enough to get it checked out.

Red blood is not usually a problem - most likely the 'roid as you suspect. But it's always best to get it checked just to be sure.

The razor blade feelin brings back memories - fissure!!! I didn't get any dr to look at it (cos I'm shy and I don't want people poking me back there!) but I could feel it tear everytime I went for a number two.

I got some cream from the chemist (and after asking for the cream, I'm never going there again!) and it took care of it for me. Its not pleasant applying it.. but better than the pain.

Agree with the others - it is good to get bowel bleeding checked out just in case.

yeah a haem can bleed alot when you are pushing out a poo and colour the water like that. You should be really concerned if your motion has dark, old blood in it as that indicates bleeding from inside the bowel. Bright red blood is good, if it can be good! As it is fresh and just happened.

A small amount is fine, but large amounts is not fine.

i don't mean to harp, but i think of the millions of people googling the term bleeding from bowels. Would hate for someone not to go to drs when they needed too.
