I was told I had one too, ages ago. I could feel something so went and got it checked out.. My GP said that they could be left alone, but I have heard something about keeping an eye on them in case they turn cancerous, so I went to a gyno to get it off, and turned out it's not a polyp, but a tear because i laboured with a cervical stitch..
Anyway, I would get it off it mine was indeed a polyp if that answers your question lol. I'm sure it's an extremely minor procedure with the gyno.
I had a polyp removed at the gyno about 15 years ago and it just felt like period pain afterwards. I have another one now which isn't a problem but my GP has a squizz at my pap smears. I used to always spot bleed and it was because of the polyp when it was touched (during a pap ) or after 'relations'.
Back in 2009 I had a horrendous time with what I thought was AF - one time the bleeding went for 9 wks Anyhoo, I saw the gynae & he said I had multiple cervical polyps, that were causing the bleeding, so I had a hysteroscopy where he removed them, and i've never had a problem since.
