We do all we can to eat as healthily as possible, as cheaply as possible. We go to a butcher that offers a loyalty program, we get a stamp for every $15 spend and every 7 stamps we get a free kilo of sausages, mince or bacon. Also, the butcher gives a dozen free range eggs for free for every $50 spent in one transaction. We normally spend about $100/fortnight so get 24 free eggs and often a free kg of meat every fortnight as well. I shop at the local markets on the weekend for fruit and veg. Before I started doing this I would spend $100 a week on fruit and veg, now I'm spending about $30/week on all that I used to get plus bonus fruit I couldn't afford before. If we didn't have to eat a lot of meat as part of gaps I would be saving even more money, but sadly this much meat is necessary at the moment.
