    Welcome Bernice!!!!

I hope this thread has been quiet because people have been working out!!!

Well done on your class and efforts Heather!!!!! Keep up the good work!!!

CQ - oooo I LOVE that feeling though! How is your hip holding up?

As for me - not a whole lot happening. I've had a few sessions - my last session was Friday and a bit crap... ok, a whole lot crap but we won't go into that right now! I seem to have ANOTHER injury. My right knee is KILLING me! On certain twists, inclines etc. But I have NO IDEA how it happened! I think it is my knee cap... I'll get physio to check it over Tuesday. Next session is Tuesday with PT. Hopefully it will be a better session. I really struggled Fri with my knee and the crowd in the gym.

I've been working out, I promise! Did 4 sessions last week. Think I need to pick up the pace a bit, going to drop Body Balance on Wednesdays and pick up another gym session instead. Might even do a double on Tuesdays so that will give me:
    Mon - Combat
    Tues - Pump + Combat
    Wed - Gym
    Thurs - Combat
Friday - Ladies circuit (hard! but great)

I'm not loosing any weight off the scales but I seem to be toning up. I can see definition coming back into my arms so its got to be working, right?

Biggest Loser starts tonight, hopefully it will keep me inspired. I always want to run & jump after watching it.

you could buy yourself some new gym clothes
download a new playlist for your Ipod
    Find a gym buddy
    remind yourself of your GOALS
Set small and realistic goals to start with
after each session, list the things you enjoyed and the things you didn't - you will be surprised what you enjoy!

Hey Nettie: What sort of walking shoes do you have? Since I got pro-fitted at Athletes foot my feet feel soo much better. I admit they were expensive, but I hadn't bought new sneakers in 15yrs so I get my money's worth out of them
I was properly fitted at the Athlete's Foot too - even did the walking pressure testing thing. So I've got Asics Gel... somethingorother.. proper good shoes. I've got plantar fascitis (heel spurs) that I'm working on fixing - but it takes time.

Welcome Berenice! I'm not at the gym either. I just do 'stuff' around home - like walking, gardening (today's task!) or some handweights.

I'm seriously thinking that I need to get onto the exercise bike. My thighs feel sooo puffy and flabby... I know I can fix that.

I've also decided to re-start my boundaries (as some of you will know, I lost 18 kgs before falling pregnant with DS - so I know what works for me already - just got to do it!) - the first one is to ONLY drink water through the day. Although if I really feel like it - I give myself permission to have *one* other drink. As long as I've had all my water too. I do drink coffee/tea too - but usually only 2 cups a day (and am down to one sugar in my coffee and none in my tea). Once that's sunk in, I'll start doing my tuna salad lunches again... then cutting out bad snacks (and incorporating more fruit)... then trying to cut back on the amount I eat... but one step at a time! Oh yeah - and exercise more! Weights 3 nights a week and bike twice... wish me luck! I'll try to get my walks in the morning too, but I've got to work on getting to bed at a reasonable hour!

Anyway - good luck to everyone and I hope the sore people feel better tomorrow (have a bath with a full packet of epsom salts!)

    xx Toni

Yep - CQ totally understand that feeling. Kim is just awesome isn't she?

I am really happy to hear everyone has been doing 'something' and keeping active.

I think even I got motivated watching Biggest Loser last night Winter. I was in tears watching the 215kg man who collapsed at the 500 mtr mark of his 4km walk. I could see he stopped beleiving in himself, when Shannan came along and told him to start beleiving again and the guy, with help, got up and kept on going - albeit they shortened the race for him, but when he got to the 1km mark - his goal, I could see how mentally strong he'd become, just by jumping that first hurdle. He ended up dropping to 200kg's at the end of the first week! .

Nettie - I am really stoked to hear of your new fitness plan. As you said - you've lost 18kg before, you'll do it again - and you know how to do it too.

Ahurani - why did you join the gym hun? To be slimmer, fitter, fit into your old clothes? All of those reasons, or maybe some other reason entirely?

MG - I wish these injuries would bugger off and stop hindering your fitness goals hun! Be gone injuries and allow MG to attain her goals - pain free!! .

AFM - For the first time in, I don't know how long, I did no exercise over the weekend . We went away with another family for a fishing trip. My friend and I did go for a walk, with the kids in the pusher/s, but it was pregnant lady speed (she is 31 weeks ).

Other than that I think I've injured my hip, but more a suspicion that my tight hamstrings have something to do with it more so. Of course I did Attack with the pain on Thursday, but decided on doing RPM on Friday after a huge walk while waiting for the car to be serviced.

Girls, I'm under 65kg as of this morning, and soooo stoked! Thank you Les Mills .

Leesa- good on you. my goal is to be under 65 again. Got a way to go yet!!!!

Toni- you have just inspired me to drink nothing but water too. I NEVER used to drink anything but water, but now i seem to crave soft drink. Water for me too. (and the obligatory morning coffee. )

Lisa - WELL DONE! I am proud of you! But not so proud of you for training with injury (where's the frown smilie?!). LOL I;m a bit funny about injuries... probably because I've had so many! LOL. How is everything else going?

Nettie: Good on you for redefining your goals! My trainer tries to tell me to aim for the sky. I retaliate with "it is better to aim for small and achievable goals which boost confidence and THEN aim higher!". Oh, and I get my shoes at some Pro place that put you on a treadmill and watch you walk then fit you that way. I can't remember their name right now though!!!! And I need to go get new shoes!!!!!

Girls, I need motivating! I have BAD attitude at the moment! I have PT this morning (90 min away) and I do not want to go! I'm in a funk. My knee is niggling (seeing physio tonight). I had a bad session Fri which has thrown me off. I feel like I'm getting no where. I'm bloated which doesn't help (always happens mid cycle). I just feel like I'm treading water and it SUCKS. I messaged my trainer last night to say I really don't want to go and got such a lame ass reply which made me cross. I was hoping (and needing) some motivation and inspiration. I got "really? but we've been doing so well". I wanted to clock him! And he KNOWS why I'm out of sorts (about Fri). A friend has suggested a break but I worry that will cause snowball effect and result in too long a break. I think I just need a kick up the bum. I know what it is... I NEED to run. I need it like you need oxygen (lame?). I can't run because of my back (and knee at the moment) and I NEED it. I miss it! It was what kept me sane... stand back people, I'm about to have a tanty that would put our kids to shame!

Aww MG- i feel your frustration radiating through my computer screen! Did you end up going? The thought of needing motivation is worse than just putting one foot in front of the other and getting out the door i find. Being restricted by injury is enough to put anyone off. Hope you managed to and get something out of it though.

Geez, how do you all remember which comments to direct to what person? I can't remember who said what, so I'm just sending 'encouragement' and 'skinny thigh' vibes to everyone

Did my first Wii PT session - lasted 25 minutes out of 45 minutes I think I'll shorten the sessions to 15 minutes and just do them throughout the day. Doc says I've gotta do an hour a day, but I just can't start off on that - surely 15 minutes 4 times a day is better than nothing?

Missed yesterday coz everything hurt so much, but I feel energised today - gotta do housework then 'off to the gym'

B- yep anything is good, more is better!

MG I hear ya, I need it like air too But how about a bike? Can you spin? It's similar...i'm thinking it's about working upa sweat and getting breathless.

I was so slack this morning! Got to the gym and sat in the childcare room for 20 mins watching "Up", then got on the tready for about 20 mins! Then did some Pump practise (not a lot, about 5 tracks) and then went and stood by the tready for about half an hour and chatted to my friends that were ON the treadmill Then I watched evreryone walk into Body Balance...and then I left lmao!

Oh well, i'm teaching tonight at least lol!

JM - I DID go to PT. And I did rather well actually (surprised D with how hard I was boxing and how well I did with weights)... but I still don't have any motivation for it. I apologised repeatedly throughout the session for my bad attitude and just felt like crying. I don't like feeling like this. I actually love exercise but am just so out of it at the moment...

Berneice - I scroll down the page where you can see people's responses whilst you type. Well done on your efforts! And you're right, you may need to build up. But try to push yourself a little further each time. If you're going for a walk, try to get to the next tree/lightpole/street corner before turning around next time. Keep up the good work!!!!

CQ - we've tried spin bikes but bikes are out altogether at the moment. My hip does not like bikes. Nor does my knee at the moment for that matter. For me the running is the sweat and the breathlessness but also the pounding. Boxing is a poor substitute for me but the closest I can get to the same feeling (especially when it is smooth like today's session). LOL at sitting in creche watching Up! Haha.

I DID go to PT. I did surprisingly well considering my attitude. I warned and apologised to D the whole session - poor guy. He hasn't seen me in this much of a funk before and was a bit surprised. Even when I went through my breakup, or had my really bad relapse with my back, I wasn't this bad. I think what got me through today was my music. I LOVE to listen to music when I train. I listened to it on the treadmill whilst he read my food/exercise diary and endured the treadmill. Then we boxed and it was smooth, fast and coordinated. He was impressed with how hard I was hitting (he always complains I "punch like a girl") and had to step back a few times. I even worked up a decent sweat boxing (a rareity). It was a GOOD session. But I did not want to be there and kept looking at the clock. My next session is a week away (I normally do 2 sessions a week). I've got mixed feelings about the week break...

Hey MG - I'm sooo glad you tucked in and went to the PT session. Music really makes the difference for me too - like you experienced, it can make or break a work out sometimes. Awesome effort. Keep being active - don't stop, the longer you stop the harder it is to get back into it (just some motivation if you feel low again ).
Turns out it is my sacroilliac joint that is overly tight - I had massage therapy on it this morning and it feels heaps better. I was told to give it a rest for a few days.....

CQ - Don't feel bad - you know its harder work instructing - talking and exercising at the same time....or, maybe yelling? .

AFM - I'm stoked - I think I've scored a back to back Body Attack and Body Pump class on Saturday mornings, quite happy about this indeed.

i find it hard to keep up with everyone too, so my posts tend to seem selfish. but i am so happy that everyone is getting motivated and getting it done.

did step today... it was a really hard class compared to last week!! she mixed the songs/routines up with not much break in between. and i REALLY REALLY hate the last cardio track, its always the worst! i wish i could just skip it. i was on time today (instead of 10mins early) and was forced to be up the front like, less than a metre away from the instructor.. didnt like it at all.

Yay for you Lisa! How awesome to have back to back classes! And yes, you should rest for a few days. I've had that "injury" and you do need to rest. Rest and stretch, stretch, stretch!!!!

You're not selfish Hollo. It is good to read what others are doing - that in itself can be motivating for some people. I used to keep a blog on BB about my efforts (which I've since abandoned but may recommence) and there is a member on BB who read it and was inspired by what I was writing. She has now commenced her own weight loss journey and doing brilliantly! Well done on your Step class today Hollo!

Lisa - thank you. I do use that as motivation when I'm low... but today I'm lower than that I simply didn't care. I keep active anyway. I train at home every day (except when my shifts don't allow it). I always complain to D that I work up more sweat at home on my treadmill than I do with him (which annoys him hehe).

I have pilates tonight with my physio. I am not particularly looking forward to that either. I am in desperate need of a break... I am planning another trip away (WITHOUT DD this time!) where I can rejuvenate and get myself back on track. Last time I did that I kicked butt in the gym. I need to do it again.

Hollo - I love Step, haven't been able to do it for so long because of my injury but fingers crossed soon! IKWYM about the last power track but you know what, just think about the cals you're burning! You are going to get the most benefit out of the whole track in that track!

I find i'm so exhausted but I just grit my teeth and push through...throw yourself above that step and make yourself fly!!! Failing that ask you're instructor to play "This Is How A Heart Breaks" it's my favourite and then you can do it for me!!!
