im an RN at gold coast hospital and abortions are illegal in QLD unless its for medical reasons the loop hole is they say the mother will mentally suffer if the pregnancy continues and as of a month ago they will not even do it for medical reasons anymore eg. down syndrome or trisomy's, unless life threatening to the mother. Not many ppl are aware of this but if you dig deep through QLD government policy you will find it. So if it is true they would need some money to get over the border to NSW to get it done as an elective abortion. i hope it works out and he isnt scamming.
wow! I didnt't know any of the states charged for it unless you went private, of course.
I thought it was covered by medicare!
but from my experience (14 years ago) it didn't cost anything, there were girls there at the time from VIC and QLD, so I guess that makes sense....
If you search google for Abortion in Queensland there is a link to children by choice website. There are prices listed on that website. The legislation for abortion in each state is also outlined.
You pay in NSW & there can be a huge difference in prices depending on where you go. I have no idea if there's a medicare rebate or not. Had no idea all states were different either..
we r in NSW. this would of been her 2nd. she had another a bit after her son was born and he is 18months.
If they do get money back from medicare they wont give it back they never do. he is always gettin money off her to go to the doc and he never gives back the rebate from that.
It is always the poor (insert name) he cant afford things so i wont make him pay it back.
It just p's me off cause she pays for his rego, his phone bills and elect bills cause he always leaves everything till it has been cut off then goes complaining to her but goes out and get a new tattoo every few weeks or pircing. he swaps/buys a dif car every about 6months and goes further and further backwards each time. at the mo he has a car that he wouldnt get 2k for and has a 30k loan.
it is just his attitude more then anything that annoys me.
