    info on abortions

i didnt know where to put this seens the thread where it should go is a private one and i just wanted some quick info so please feel free to move it if it needs to mods.

I think my bro has been scamming my nana for money and i just wanted to get some info.
His new Gf got preg and they wanted to go get an abortion and it was all planned then he ends up ringing and asking for money so nana gave him a few hundred.
    how much does it cost?

I am just thinkin that he is scaming her because i know of a few young young people that have had it done and not wanted their parents to know so i am thinkin that it couldnt cost too much.

i know it all prob sounds stupid but i just found out the same day they were ment to go get it done he happened to get his tounge pirced so he obviously has money so it has p'd me off.

An elective first trimester abortion can cost between $250-$300 I think, so he could easily be telling the truth.

I wouldn't know what it is now, but it was just under $200 about 10 years ago, and just under $300 5 years ago, although I heard of someone else borrowing $400 for one in about 2005 (sorry, sketchy details, based on friend of a friend type stuff)

It's possible. But the tongue ring, that is bad form. No wonder you are p'd off. I would tell your nan. Because I'm a cold-hearted bad sister. (I have dobbed in my sis for doing something similar)

In SA it doesn't cost a cent.

It depends where he lives. Up here, you can be looking at $400 + depending on where you go, it's cheaper if you go south. Around $300 I believe in Brissy.

Also, random but true, if you live in vic and have a healthcare card, and even sometimes a student card, you can get a discount...and certain days can be cheaper too...
