It depends where he lives. Up here, you can be looking at $400 + depending on where you go, it's cheaper if you go south. Around $300 I believe in Brissy.

Also, random but true, if you live in vic and have a healthcare card, and even sometimes a student card, you can get a discount...and certain days can be cheaper too...

Is there a medicare rebate for it as well because he should be able to go to medicare and get the rebate so he can pay back your Nan ASAP ... I don't know much about it but I know that lots of medical procedures, even elective and contraversial ones (like circumcision) have a rebate.

I would be annoyed about the tongue ring too if he is borrowing money. Some places that do body piercing take money when you book though (I imagine they would lose a lot of money from people deciding not to otherwise) and he may have already had it booked and paid for before he knew that his gf was pg.

A friend of mine had one here in Newcastle last year and it cost her $350. I was her support person for it and I was shocked at the price.

im an RN at gold coast hospital and abortions are illegal in QLD unless its for medical reasons the loop hole is they say the mother will mentally suffer if the pregnancy continues and as of a month ago they will not even do it for medical reasons anymore eg. down syndrome or trisomy's, unless life threatening to the mother. Not many ppl are aware of this but if you dig deep through QLD government policy you will find it. So if it is true they would need some money to get over the border to NSW to get it done as an elective abortion. i hope it works out and he isnt scamming.
