    Question new glasses

I got glasses for the first time yesterday.
My optomotrist said I have a stigmatism in both eyes.

Now, while I have noticed a definite imporovement, my eyes feel, well the best description I can manage is tired.

Is this just my eyes getting used to the glasses or is it something I need to discuss with the optomotrist?

If you'v only had them for a day then yes I'd say they are tired trying to get used to the glasses. I'd give it a week or two to get used to them unless they are giving you bad headaches.

rayray - i always get tired eyes when i get new glasses - they've gotten used to behaving one way, and have to change the way they work to accommodate the new lenses - it will get better!!

and astigmatism is a change to the shape of your cornea - instead of being shaped kinda like a ufo, it elongates one way or another, and you end up with more of a foot ball shaped cornea. and instead of having nice regular fibres, they're a irregular - ultimately, your eyes and optic muscles have been working hard to bring things in to focus in the past, but now that you've got your glasses, they have to learn to relax again and "adapt" to it all.

    RayRay,
Do you know what sort of prescription it was? Astigmatism can be combined with a few other conditions including myopia (short sightness) or hypeopia (long sightedness). As what the others have said try it few a few days it should get better but sometimes there can be a few reasons for astigmatic lenses to be incorrect one being the axis not being on the correct meridan or the pupil distance not being measured or made up correctly.
Let me know if I can be any help?
