So while in the shower shaving my underarms....

Last night, I found a little sore spot and a lump. It's not huge and I can't actually see it. I can just feel it. DH had a feel and he can feel it too. I haven't ever had anything like this before. I am going to the GP tomorrow for an antenatal check so I will show him then.
But what would it be? I am thinking probably just a swollen sweat gland/lymph node or a cyst....would these things be sore? It's not so sore I feel it if I'm not touching it. I'm only aware of it when I touch it. What will the doc do about it? Would it be a matter of wait and see what it does, or have some sort of diagnostic treatment now?
I am ashamed to admit that stupidly, I haven't been doing breast checks for a long time now because I have been pg or bfing for so long and my boobs are quite lumpy anyway, so I could never tell if the lumps were abnormal or anything. The only reason I found this is cause it was a little ouchy.
I am a little worried because we do have breast cancer in our family, with my maternal grandmother and aunt both having been treated for it.

I had found a lump at the beginning of the year. I was lying down when I felt it. I moved position, and could still feel it. I let DH have a feel around, and he could feel it too. I was a little freaked out, as you would be, but went and saw the doctor. She had a feel of both breasts, and found the spot I was talking about. She asked where I was in my cycle and sent me for an ultrasound. By the time the ultrasound appt rolled around the lump was gone (it was only a few days). It was nothing.

Hopefully, yours is nothing as well.

I've had a lump under there and it was just a swollen gland, so hopefully that is the same for you. I know the fear though, cos I had a lump in my breast a few years ago, and had to undergo mammograms and biopsies just to see what it was.. and god it was scary

Most likely a swollen gland or blocked mamory duct (yes, it is possible to get them all the way up under you armpit). FX it is something simple like that.

I had a little sore lump, quite close to the surface, it went away when I changed to a deodorant for sensitive skin!
I think maybe the fact that its painful is a good thing- I think that means its less likely to be something problematic
But your GP will be able to tell you right away Don't stress

I would say its a pregnancy thing. The dr did a breast check and found a lump when i was preg with ds2 and was sent for an ultrasound on the lump. It was nothing, just breasts changing in pregnancy. The sonographer told me that pain is a good thing as cancerous lumps almost never hurt.

Aww, thanks girls!! The doc said it's probably just hormonal. He had a feel and the lump is smaller, almost not there anymore. Still a little bit sore, but not like the other day. He said to keep an eye on it and come back if it changes. I'm not really worried about it tbh! I think it was just the initial shock of finding it. I am going to be doing my breast checks properly now that's for sure!!

I had a very similar thing which turned out to be hormonal. I was due for my period and it happens every couple of months now. It come sup and then goes away a few days before my period actualy arrives
