Renstar- i still dont feel overly thirsty i dont think (during the day) ... tho i am starting to get very thirsty at night for some reason... i bought a 1.5L bottle which has been a great help... and if i drink that before around 2ish its very easy to drink the 2L's per day

I think the recommended is 2-3L's per day depending on your situation

Ren, I really think that can be the case. I was never thirsty before & hardly drank anything, maybe a glass of juice with breakfast & one with dinner and that was it all day. Now since I started this challenge, I've found that I do get thirsty a whole lot more.

As for how much.... The reason I started the challenge was because my FS said I need to be drinking between two and three litres to prevent OHSS with IVF. I think it's just a great way to get motivated to drink more, any amount more has got to be better than what a lot of us are doing now as it seems we're not drinking much at all.

So if you make 1L today, brilliant and if tomorrow it's only 600ml that's ok too. Just having the thread here makes you more aware, ooh I have to drink so I can tell the others how "good" I was today. Well it works for me

And for today I've had........ 2.5L *cheer*

    nice work sarah!!

i've been norty again today - have probably hit 1.5L but had lots of softdrink (went out for the night and it was the only thing really available) - will have to make amends tomorrow and getat least 2L in (although, if i get my way, i'll sleep all day tomorrow so maybe none...LOL)

i'm like Bath - have had a bottle of water beside the bed ever since i started at uni - i used to have a fridge in my room at uni, and i'd wake up in the middle of the night when it was icy cold in Canberra, and the cold air would make me soooooooo thirsty i'd grab for the water - it became habit. now there is a bottle by the bed all the time - even DH makes a grab for it sometimes! i find if i wake up to go to the loo or even just cos i'm not comfy, i'll make a conscious effort to have a bit of a drink now - i guess i'm in the same boat as Sarah - fear of OHSS is a good motivator!

Yesterday I was bad - I only had one of the three bottles of water I was going to have. 600mL - but I suppose thats better than nothing!
I'll be sitting down most of today with the new Harry Potter book, so I'll keep a bottle next to me for that

Renstar - OHSS is ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome - a possible side effect of IVF where you're ovaries swell a lot and your abdomen fills with fluid. it's not nice (i had it mildly earlier this year - some of the other girls have had it pretty badly) - drinking extra water helps to keep your body hydrated through the process...

i drank about half a litre over night but nothing so far today - i actually got wish and slept in til i woke up naturally - for the first time in about 6months!! even DH slept in! yay!! gonna have a cuppa with brunch then head out into the garden and i always carry a bottle of water around with me out there...

Going to try and at least get thru 1.2l bottle today then some more tonight....

You are right Sarah just having this thread will help to remind me to drink more water...I want to TTC soon so have to get used to drinking lots now....

This is so much harder on the weekend! I think I've probably had about 1.5L so far. I'll probably have more than2L cos I'm having to guess how much I've had..

I agree - it's so much harder to keep on tabs with your water intake in the weekend. Thurs I did 2L, yesterday I did about 1.5L and today about 100ml - NAUGHTY!

Going to watch a DVD - Happy Feet - so will do my best to get to at least 600ml by the end of the movie.

It's great having this thread though, it's at the back of my mind - very motivating. Good to report in and reflect how you've gone. Thanks Sarah_H for starting Despite today's poor effort, I would still be doing 200ml a day, if anything at all.

Well i got down about 600ml yesterday, totally negated by my coffee and tea and coke...

Today i've had 150ml (what was left in my bottle) to take my meds with, but now i'm having a coffee....

LOL, i'm not very good at this game now am i?

Like I said Bec, as long as you have some it's all good

Only up to 1.2L today. I've had a very stressful bad day so not really into it so much. Tomorrow will be a better day.

I feel so weird. All I usually drink is water and milk (and one to two cups of tea a day). I never even thought that was unusual. I guess I just haven't noticed that other people drink different things LOL. I still probably don't drink enough water these days though which is especially bad while I'm bfing. So I might pop in here every now and then to keep motivated.
