Thanks Sherie... this is such a helpful thread... such a simple, cheap way of drastically improving our health... so often it's the simple things in life we forget and overlook.

750ml so far... one cup with the added goodness of pure lemon.

Hey Linz, just out of curiosity what do you drink when you wake up in the middle of the night and you're thirsty? I have at least 2 drinks of water... at least a few sips... every night. I keep a glass on my bedside table, and if I forget to put one there DH puts one there for me before he gets into bed (he always comes to bed later than me). Maybe it's just 'cos I'm BFing but I kinda have always needed at least 1 drink each night... all my life... I'm not a thirsty kinda person, don't have diabetes or anything... it's just a night thing. Although hopefully doing this water challenge it might stop because my body will be properly hydrated during the day.

    Starting my drinking today! w00t!

I always start my day with a cup of tea to stay awake with, and now I've had that, time to start - as I said in the other thread, I'm aiming for three 600mL bottles a day - That would be an accomplishment for me seeing I don't even drink water usually!

OK - too late to start today (without spending all night wearing a track to the bathroom)

As of tomorrow I will be able to utilise the new filter jug I bought last night. It holds 1.8L so that will be a good start

    Hi Ladies.

Liz - great idea...I am going to start 2morrow....gotta carry the bottle with me all day. I find drinking cold water out of the tap is easier than having it colder out of the fridge....

My bottle 1.2lts how much should we have each day?

I also (like Bathsheba) take a few mouthfuls each night and leave the bottle near my bed so if I wake during the night I also have a drink...trying to make it a habit

I have had 2.5 today, but 2 cups of coffee, so that probably cuts out the .5 !!! But I wore a track to the loo today at work! Will keep going and try for a few more glasses before bed!. Thanks for the motivation

Hi girls, just noticed this thread and i think i'll join in too. I hardly ever drink water.
I don't feel the need to drink it (i know we need 8 glasses a day though! i know how important it is) like i don't get thirsty! strangely enough. i think its because i am used to not drinking it that my body just doesnt tell me its thirsty anymore does that make sense?
I don't wake up thirsty either, like if i pee in the middle of the night, i just pee and go back to bed without even thinking about thirst....
i drink diet coke... LOL how bad am i.... and cups of tea (3 per day) so thats water too i guess

congrats Nikki thats great!!! wow 2L! You don't need any more than that otherwise you can overwork your kidneys... having TOO much water can be just as bad as too little... (underwork/overwork the kidneys)... unless you do lots of exercise etc then of course you need more.
does that mean your "thirst" buds have come alive again? hehe what i mean is, now you are drinking again, have you felt you can tell when you are thirsty now? whereas before you couldnt? (like me).
