    MMR Seperate Injections

    hello ladies,
I have a very good friend with a one year old who does not want to give her baby the MMR - she would like them to be seperate injections. Is this possible? Do you know any doctor (perferably in Sydney, but she said she would travel anywhere) that does these vac's seperately?

    Many thanks

CC, I'm not sure if they can give them separately, otherwise I know alot of people would be getting it done that way. Maybe some else will know more.

    thanks Amanda,
nice to hear from you... Yes, I'm not sure either, however I remember someone from BB saying that they had a doctor in Melbourne do it???? anyway, it would be a HUGE shame that we do not have choices such a seperate injections.

I was told by my GP last week that they have to be done together - I have immunity to rubella but not measles or mumps and have to double up on the rubella because there's no way to separate them. If there is a way to have them separately I'm very keen to know though as it's putting off our TTC plans for 3 months if I go ahead with the vaccination. Now I'll be following this thread very closely!!!

    My doctor can do it

Hi Ladies, just read this, sorry to reply so late! I spoke to my doc about this ages ago. I think she thinks I'm a bit daft, but says she needs about a month's warning as she has to order them in. Plus, Medicare won't pay for them . . . . they are about $100 each. Don't know if that helps.

I'm sure that there are some mum's on BB who have done them separately (I think one in Sydney?). If I remember to ask my doc in 2 weeks I'll check back in and let you know what he says.
