I just remembered Kathy Walker. I like her philosophies and approach to early childhood education. She is about the importance of play in learning and about letting children be children, not hurrying them through the very important early years.
Steve Biddulph has a new one out also called Raising Happy Children (or something like that). I haven't read it yet but I am sure it would be very good.
I would really recommend Robin Grille's heart to heart parenting. He is an aussie psychologist and the theme is very much about their emotional development. I would consider us gentle parenters and this book really made a lot of sense to us. Hope this helps
