    Hey girls!

I'm the newest member of the club - I was diagnosed today.

I am just on diet changes and monitoring my BSL 6 times a day (eek!) for the moment, and will be on weekly visits to my GP as I'm doing shared care. I'm not sure how long they will monitor the condition before they decide whether or not I'll need insulin - I have a follow up appointment this Thursday, and I've written all my questions down so I don't forget!

Any advice/recipies etc would be great!!!!!

    Ashlee xoxo

    Hi Ladies,

I'm a bit new to this, so I thought I'd just ask about GD from some people who may be able to answer my questions.

I had my 1 hour test last week, not thinking that it would bring anything back, just had it offered via the Hospital and thought, better safe than sorry.

My result was 9.1, so now I am booked in for the 2 hr test this Thursday.

I've tried reading some of these threads, and think that anything over 8 is an issue, but I wasn't sure if 9.1 is high/something to worry about, or if this would just consist of a routine "double check".

Can anyone tell me the likely hood of this 9.1 turning out to be GD? Obviously they take these tests before and after I drink the stuff, and from others posts you can have a normal reading from the first blood test and then be over for the second blood test.

Does that mean that you have GD?

This is my second pregnancy and the only factor that I have that could contribute to this is that I'm 32. But from reading the Diabetes website I don't think it really seems to matter, it's all about how your body copes with the placenta's hormones and trying to produce a lot more glucose than normal.

I've noticed that I've been REALLY tired through this pregnancy and haven't really gotten over all of that, plus sleep badly/have insomnia. But as I also have PND/Aniexty I thought that would be more likely to be the cause of some of my symptoms.

Any advice would be great. I'm not particurlary stressed about it, but then read one post where you have to be monitored very closely, change your diet etc. Sounds like a lot of hard work!!!
