So have decided.to make alot of our gifts this year.. Just need some ideas on ehat are good things to do..ANY ideas are appreciated.. What handmade gift woukd YOU loveto recieve from a loved one?

My mum makes hand embroidered coat hangers for gifts -

I've made individual iced fruitcakes in the past too - you could make larger ones for a family
Scented oils - pretty glass bottles look lovely, and also bath salts.
Those smelly pocket things you put in drawers/cupboards are nice gifts too made out of some lovely craft fabric.

Hot Chocolate In A Jar - layer the ingredients for home made hot chocolate in a pretty jar with a bow and tag
Chocolate Spoons - Basically melt chocolate and spoon it into a plastic spoon, decorate with sprinkles (they look pretty)
Cake in a jar
For little kids melt down some crayons into shapes they like
Maybe a 2012 diary? Not particularly creative, but functional if part of a gift basket. Maybe also buying something like a magazine or cookbook to suit individuals interests?
Then things like homemade treats, bath bombs etc.
I remember my great Nanna always made Christmas stockings (silver card backing, orange bag netting front) and we always got a chocolate, pocket diary, knickers/jocks and a small bag of coloured popcorn. Tradition was always to eat the popcorn for breakfast on Christmas day!! The little things you remember, right?!
I make little lead lighting objects, which go on windows and such. I made a few for my ILs last year for Christmas and will be making more for them this year.

this might be a bit dull as you just cant compare with homemade slices and foods but when i was a kid, at school we got a glass bottle (cheap in a nice shape) and made a few piles of sand on paper and rubbed different coloured chalk through each pile colouring them pink, purple, blue, orange so on and so on till all the sand in each pile was coloured, then layered them in the bottles, i dont know what this is called but the end result is nice. you cant really do anything with it, but they look nice sitting in the bathroom and around the place as trinket type things
I'm making a fairy skirt for my niece. Rather than trying to make it fit her perfectly I decided to do it ballet wrap skirt style so it'll be full length on her now (6 months) but it can grow with her for a few years.
White tulle underskirt, then red pendant tulle on a green satin ribbon to go over. I can make different overskirts to go with the white underskirt so she can have different ones to play around with through the year.
Her mum (and dad) make us little gift boxes of goodies every year that are quite delicious. I've told them to never ever give me the recipe for the brownies because I'd likely become exceedingly fat.
I'm a big fan of handmade, but I never celebrated xmas till I got married so I suppose I might be easier to please
I ended up buying a 3 piece drinking glasses set from Red Dot for $2 and doing their initials in different colors in lead lighting for them 1 for MIL (SJB), 1 for FIL (SMB) and 1 for BIL (CEB) and I LOVED how they turned out
I can't upload the photos to Facebook till after Christmas cause they'd know who they were for (unless I upload them into my BB locked file )
