Lego / Mega Bloks Lovers

We have the 600 pc pack here too - DS uses it all the time. We were thinking of getting some roofs, doors and windows too - didn't know you could get packs of them....learning something new every day. Do I have to order online or should a good toy shop have them?

DS was making his 'bambi' (Friends fawn mini set) set today, when he brings over the booklet and announces that if he had the dog and bird set too, he could make 'all of this too', so....then proceeds to spend the next 25 minutes telling me we need to go shopping straight away! When DH called later, I told him and he goes, 'You mean the sets I have sitting in my car?!' He'd already bought them for DS! DS was stoked, and of course he and Daddy had to make them all before dinner

DS had a nightmare he couldn't find the right pieces to make his Lego boat....he came out about 10:30pm, fully distraught! I feel for him, I've been having Lego dreams every night too

Good toy shop should have them. We got ours from toy world locally (they had a good sale so I made the most of it - it's so rare to save a decent amount on Lego!)

There are three packs - roof bits, doors/windows and wheels. We haven't got the wheels set yet (dh decided we needed a second roof bits pack before we needed wheels). That could conceivably be this weeks Lego purchase...


I think this thread is bringing on the Lego dreams. We've all done so well to not let it take over til this thread started and we realised its totally normal to be this excited about kids blocks! I blame you, ZF! You've made us let the crazy out!!!

The instructions for the combined mini set are on te Lego site. If you go to legofriends (com). Click on animals. Then choose any of the animals and under the video (which shows the builds) there is a link for building instructions. The second one is the instructions for the combined series 3 that you see in the book

Just saw Big W also has a small Lego bricks set which is very similar to the one at Kmart but some slight differences.

I think I'll be getting the 1600 piece one from Kmart for Xmas. :-)

Oh oh oh, we get along really well with the girls gymnastics teacher, she was asking about DD's birthday and we were talking about how she got heaps of lego.

She said she has heaps at home her kids have outgrown & she wants to get rid of, she's happy to give it to Miss A but she has to talk to her husband.
He doesn't want to give them away but she wants them gone

Asked her how much she wants for them, she said nothing.... Doubt her DH is letting them go though

The girls have decided they want the rescue ship set, hmmmmmm

I'd think her hubby is on to something. I know many people hold on to Lego for their grand kids. I know my brother would have flipped if mum got rid of his before he could give it to his kids. But it was stored at mums for ages because he wasn't settled down enough at the time. I'd err on the side if caution and say to her you'd love to have them but you'd really like her to confirm not just with her husband bit her kids as well. They may well assume it will be there and be upset with her if she gets rid of it (not that it would in any way come back on you, but it's definitely something to be mindful of - I personally wouldn't want to be a part if that kwim?)

Apparently my awesome hospital takes up too many bricks (well duh, you wanted a big hospital, kid!) so sh wants me to pull it apart tonight! How rude!

I've offered to buy it but she wants it gone, her kids want it gone...
I personally wouldn't be letting it go either but I won't pass it up if her husband agrees

I think we will be spending a while in the lego isle when we go to the shops.
Might go to target for cruiser then Kmart for whatever money she has left, and for DD2 to pick something.

DD1 has a lego friends tshirt on today, she got it for her birthday

Target catalogue has some city lego marked down too... Think the girls will have some hard decisions.

You have some incredibly lucky girls ZF! My DH tells me he has some in his cupboard at his parents house. I get the feeling he's not keen to pass it on to DS just yet lol. Maybe when he's older.

Talking about lego dreams lol. I have been thinking about decluttering a bit to make room to store the sets I've got for xmas/birthday presents. And I had a dream that DH & I were splitting up (bit left field but any excuse to declutter lol) and throwing out heaps of stuff including a heap of my old work clothes that I have worn since my stomach got to big to button them up when I was pg with DS. So a long time ago lol. Someone higher up obviously heard me and sent me a pink bag in the mail. It's now full. And I have a nice sized space in the bottom of my wardrobe just right for storing boxes of lego lol.

I think DS might need the big box from Kmart for christmas too.

Am thinking girls will buy dolphin cruiser then DD1 will still have $30 for something else (thinking friends or a small city set) then might give DD2 $30-$50 for a set for her. She's been very good with everything and feeling so left out if things.

Might lay-by the coast guard boat set or fire station for x-mas
