I've started thinking about what to get, but probably won't start until the end of Nov or start of Dec.
We buy most of ours at the local shops too.

Part done here. DD2's main presents are done and we know what we will be getting for DD1. Just need to get the little stocking fillers. DH and I are boring, don't want to waste money, so we have agreed to a joint present of a box set or 2 of DVD's, will just need to order them in.

The in-laws have thrown a spanner in the works. Have not idea if they will be over or not. We only buy for those that we see at Christmas, so it would be nice to know where they will be. I do not want to be trying to buy them something last minute.

I normally lay away neice/nephew gifts in July but had a bit of a layby disaster this year (cancelled without a letter after I forgot payments UM chemotherapy can be a bit distracting...!) but have nearly got them sorted out now. Everything else is mostly undone except for Trike and toy kitchen for DD2.

Agree, with Trill - I love to shop at Christmas, love the atmosphere!! Try to get all the necessities done earlier on and then just shop for trimmings as the big day approaches (like smelly candles and other things that make me feel festive LOL).

Some ideas for your bubs - I don't know if you have a baby gym - it's like a frame that you can hang various toys off - I found this really useful from early on. Otherwise think about getting a really nice box that can be bub's keepsake box (I have boxes for each of my DDs and keep things like cards people have sent, birth plan, list of names we chose from and reasons, baptism candle, a copy of the invitation we made for every birthday, etc). Or something special and handmade like a quilt to play on or a picture for her room. When my bubs were born I gave each of them a special keepsake book with a matching toy. Wrapped it up and everything LOL.

Baby's first Christmas bauble for your tree - get in to the shops soon to get one cos all the nice ones sell out quick!

ummm, present wise - you've got most of what your bubba needs for first 6 months or so - so look at what might be useful six months down the track (clothes wise or toys wise) - DH is keen on spending up big on presents for DD, i've said no! we have some clothes on layby for her, and then we will get her a name puzzle (hopefully) - not keen on heaps of toys really. she is getting a walker from my parents, duplo from my aunt, and apparently some wooden building blocks from my bro/sil - she doesnt really need any more toys.... so we're going with the name puzzle and maybe some older puzzles for her to play with in six months (if i'm going to put in an order, may as well get a few things and combine postage lol)
