we normally dont (ie every year for the last 10ish years). maybe a wee card, or a chocolate bar while watching telly

BUT this year, being in the US of A we feel we should embrace it a bit more this year...and in a similar fashion to you and DH we will go extra soppy and kitschy lol. i look forward to it with glee!

It's called Hallmark Day in our house, and represents all sorts of commercialism and consumerism we're not really into ...

Sometimes DH will get me a card or whatever, once or twice we've had a picnic and enjoyed each others' company, but it's not really part of our calendar or traditions, and we don't go out of our way to celebrate it ...

We see it the same way as Christmas trees: there's nothing wrong with them, but we don't find them to be meaningful, important or beneficial, so we don't have one ... but we don't take issue with others who like them and have them ...

We're big on anniversaries, though ... we celebrate our dating anniversary, our wedding anniversary, and our sex anniversary (seriously, I'm not kidding ... we don't go out for dinner, but we do dine ...).

Rouge: I think you need to definitely go all out this year, to make up for the rest of us ... I look forward to pictures ...

It is our first Valentine's Day (yes, we will have a one month old, feel free to do the math lol) and I know DP has something planned, he isn't the king of subtle plus you know, I'm super cluey clever haha. I'm getting him a little jokey meaningful kind of gift and keep teasing it might be the night he gets relucky haha as we have been both dying to be intimate but I'm a medically paranoid kind of girl so we have been waiting a magical undetermined amount of time for my crazy peace of mind. Very difficult as we didn't miss a day the whole pregnancy minus the last two weeks because I didn't want to kick off anything over Christmas, New Year and my birthday (5th) lol. Anyway, getting off topic but yes, I will be asking DP to be my Valentine even if we celebrate our love everyday! Today I texted him the quote "You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams." ~ Dr. Seuss because last night we had to tag team with the girls til 9:30pm and after, even though we were both exhausted we couldn't fall asleep as we didn't want to miss 'our time' for the night so stayed up another hour just chatting and cuddling before sleep hehe. I also love the togetherness of it all and will be watching all the couples from my balcony if I get the chance, melts my heart seeing love in action or hearing others tales of it. I'm that weirdo glancing around at restaurants and movies inventing stories about the people I see, guessing how many dates they've had, where they met etc haha.

Kind of. Our past dates have included:
Cinnamon donuts, eaten sitting on the kerb (morning tea)
Shopadocket pancakes at a dodgy cafe
Tropical fruit picnic in a park
    Takeaway pizza
    Nothing
Heart shaped croutons in homemade soup
Went away for a romantic weekend (with the baby)

We never buy cards or presents or anything, but this year, a friend is hosting a girls only card making day, so we're getting together to drink bubbly and eat nibblies and do craft.

    OMG, 3 pages already!

We buy each other cards. That's about it. we're constantly trying to save so if DH goes and spends money on gifts I will get cranky!!

Nope we don't. Not even a card, nothing really other than saying - oh it's Valentines Day did you have a nice day!
