Easter Eggs - What do YOU buy?

I went Easter egg shopping today and was suprised there wasnt much out there....

Last year we did our own easter egg hunt with the little solid eggs all around the house and DS got a big bunny and a few of the hollow cadbury eggs that were for Mum and Dad

This year i dont know what to buy, it might be pregnancy brain, but what do you think is appropraite for a two year old ( 2 1/2)

    What is your family doing?

How elsedo you celebrate Easter in you house?

We don't buy Nestle eggs, for one thing.

We do an Easter egg hunt, with the small chocolate eggs. Heavens knows we are usually given enough others to last the rest of the year! We go to our church Easter service too. But the Easter bunny is a definite fixture.

Apart from that, nothing really. Unless you count the Easter Show, which is not really on Easter Sunday here though. DD did get a few stuffed toys at Easter time when she was younger from other relatives, but nothing more from us.

I think all those packaged easter eggs etc are soooo expensive! You pay for the packaging and once you open the box there isnt much in there thats actually edible!!

Mum has bought DD(2.2yrs) a small bag of cadbury creme mini eggs so weve decided thats all she needs. I think next year when she's three we will do an easter egg hunt

Mmm easter eggs! Its the only time I love chocolate

We do an easter egg hunt so we buy solid eggs and the bigger ones in the plastic carton. And then I usually buy the kids a bunny each...my fav is the crunchie bunny yummmo! they are expensive but its once a year....mmmm solid easter eggs *drool*

OT but I finally had a creme egg and to be honest it did not rock my boat...everyone goes on about them...but it did not live up to the hype

Another reason why im not buying those packaged easter treats this year (ones in boxes and hardly much inside!!) is the impact it has on our environment!! All that waste but each to their own. Im being more eco sustainable this year

Last year I painted a bunch of hard-boiled eggs for DD to do the hunt and just gave her a lindt dark choc bunny. She didn't like it so DH got it lol.

This year I am thinking the same hunt-wise and tehn maybe a smartie egg as she loves smarties...

Good point...we are very conscious about the environment so we will be reusing all of our boxes etc for crafts Same with the wrappers

My kids always get a bunny (usually one of those cheap 88c ones from Big W - because I don't eat that crappy chocolate and won't be tempted), and then we buy a packet of small solid eggs (cadbury - yummmy) and one small/medium sized hollow egg. All my kids get the exact same regardless of age, because the older ones notice if anything is different. But at such young ages, just because they get them, doesn't mean they are the ones to eat them. It is way too much chocolate - but mummy and daddy help them eat the smaller ones.
